As usual from me, not a playing but the arrival half an hour ago of MMP's reprint of "A Victory Lost". I ignored it during it's initial printing. The subsequent good reviews convinced me to get it this time round. Order placed with SCG after lunch on Tuesday, arrived today, Friday, which is very fast turn around. First minute's look is good.

Played some scenarios of RuneAge with my son these days.
It is a nice deck building game set in the Terrinoth world, where each player leads a different race.
Scenarios vary from directly confrontational to fully cooperative.
The coop scenarios are extremely hard to win.

The SCS system is quite good, very simple and easy to get into. Some games in the system are better than others. I particularly like the recent Bulge game mechanism where units can move an awful long way on the roads providing they don't move adjacent to the enemy.

SP is great for getting the feel for the bigger battle without the rules overhead in the OCS series, although the OCS is superb.

1st or 2nd edition?

I own them both, but remember having the best gaming experience with the 1st version.

Played Relic this afternoon, with the "Corruptis" ending, against my son.
I won - but we were both in the center square battling the monster.
Game lasted about 3 hours and a half.

Haven't played *yet* but looking forward to it in the future. just received a copy of Devil's Cauldron from Alex Key. I can't speak enough praise for Alex. A big game like this takes a lot of effort to pack and protect from damage during transit. He is a great gamer/seller to buy from. You will not be disappointed.

As for the game: ASL first... Then I will sink my teeth into this puppy.

Edit: The patches were a gift for ordering!

Purchased a really cool e-bay version of the twelve old "gold box" D&D games, playing pool of radiance. Basically, this guy on ebay is selling packaged old games with a scripted set up for DOS Box. I like it because I don't have to F around with DOS box, it's all scripted, and plays right out of the box.

Thinking of getting the third Reich game, pathched to the 1.3 verion ( I think). I used to love that third reich game, despite a few bugs it had.

It's a very good game, you will not be disappointed. The system takes a bit of getting used to, although relatively simple. it is a monster game but comes in very playable chunks. The VASSAL module is one of the very best there is.

JD Webster's Fighting Wings: first dabble and we played Buffalo Wings. The game turned out to be a bit like my flight simming, fired a lot, hit little and ran out of ammo...

Quite heavy on the logging, not for everyone that's for sure.

I love Fighting Wings. Did you use the full rules? Or the Buffalo Wings rules?
