Played 7 Wonders last week and Munchkin as well. Both good games but 7 Wonders rules the roost just now. A game that can be played start to finish in 45 minutes and presents a challenge each time.

Do you work together? How would it work for 4 players and how long does it take to play?
If you are looking for a good co-op game that doesn't take more than about 2 hours (average), look at Pandemic, and it's expansion, On the Brink. Aside from ASL, this is hands down the best boardgaming investment I have ever made. Our family and friends love it.

To even ask that question on an ASL Forum is shameful! "What Non_ASL Game are you playing Indeed" It is even more shameful to answer such dribble! :blab:

Homesteaders would work nicely for such attention spans.
Homesteaders would be for my adult group not my boys. The boys want death and destruction. Build armies and attack or hack & slash. None of that home building or working together crap. They want to pound on each other or pound on dad. The games they like:

Kings & Things
Starcraft
Rune Wars
Descent
Chaos in the Old World
Twilight Imperium
Middle Earth Quest

How'd you like Thunderstone? It left me pretty cold given the deterministic nature of taking out the monsters...

Betrayal at House on the Hill took us about 1 hour to play with 3 players. It is for 3-6 players so it might take longer with 6.Pandemic/On the Brink is also a great coop game that takes 1-1.5 hours to play.

Played 1830 on Saturday with on old east coaster Vinny Fratelli and his wife and daughter. Hadn't played 1830 in 15 years. The new version is gorgeous and it's still the same cut throat game that I remember as Vinny dumped the Pennsylvannia on his daughter and bankrupted her.

Have played Pandemic 3 or 4 times. Does On the Brink make it better?

Did you get the books?

Last weekend played GMT Battle for Normandy scenario with two friends of mine, followed by GMT Space Empires 3-player game.
Then did run my two buddies thru an all-armor engagement in ASL as they were curious how armor works in ASL vs old Yaquinto Panzer/Armor/88 system.

Have Lock N Load Forgotten Heroes (Vietnam) scenario setup on the table to play solo on my days off this week. See setup of it at link below:

Gentlemen

Me and my gaming buddy have been playing Flashpoint: Golan for a few weeks now. "Classic" Victory Games style game. Allot to learn, but once we got our bearings it is fun to play. Israeli HQs are kick A@%!! Certainly a unique wargame. Is the Designer Mark Herman still designing games?

Regards
Joe

Mark Herman still designs games. "Empire of the Sun" and "Washington's War" both by GMT are his last 2 i think.

Over the weekend i played about 6 games of Dominion, 4 player, and won 1. Fun but still in the "I'll play it if you want to" category for me.

Also played my first game of "Galaxy Trucker." Good for some laughs and i'd play it again, but i won't be buying it.

A fellow ASLer and I have been playing Flying Colors because we also like Age of Fighting Sail tactical level games. I've also been playing Twilight Struggle. Also recently got a copy of DVG's solitaire submarine game U-Boat Leader and am enjoying that as well. Not to worry though, it's FtF ASL this coming Saturday!

I just picked up a card game called "Gloom".
Looks like good family fun!
Gloom is a lot of fun. Don't miss the add on packs. The FAQ on the geek will help you with some of the "quirks" in the rules.
