ya that scares me, barely anybody plays KWASL and now the same guys that brought use that chrome laden module are now probably going to do the same with Gen 48. Knowing these guys, we will see 10 pages of nationality rules on the Israelis.

Apparently you don’t know these guys. Inconceivable also that you are equating an MMP production with CH.

I am not sure if you play ASL anymore.

But in case you don't, in KWASL the Nat Char for N Koreans is half a page. Chinese is 4.25 pages - and that's with a ton of illustrations.

As a comparison, IJA Nat Char is 4.5 pages.

PS Heck, Israeli Nat Char in Gen 48 is less than 2 pages.

I'm curious about any new vehicle counters in the module. What could we expect to see?

I expect recycled Shermans and PzIVs and maybe some never been seen before British armoured cars from WW1.

From the little I have read, some “junkyard” Shermans, a pair of Cromwells and some odds and ends for the Israelies.

This is rocking good news. Hopefully an official Indochine will follow, but more time specific (1930’s to 1950’s) core modules and HASLs are welcome.

and like all the newer core modules since Haaka P. I am interested in using them to reimplement WW2 scenarios with units that the original mix did not account for.

I am really looking forward this and the Spanish civil war. I like to see real thought out rules and scenarios that have been thoroughly playtested. The current ASL rules covers these two time periods. Not on flimsy rules, unrealistic periods of time like Vietnam or Desert Storm like some other companies.

I agree. From the 30’s to the 50’s is where it ought to stay. Tbh there’s not even any difference at all with a lot of weapons on ten years either side of the war as much as there is within the war.

I REALLY wish MMP wouldn't make this fringe stuff 'core'. I only bought KWASL b/c they made it core & I figured I'd need boards, counters, etc. from it to play WWII products going forward. As little interest as I had in playing Korean War I have far, far less interest in the Arab-Israeli 1948 conflict.

If they want to make a module for this confict great! I wish MMP the best of luck with it and hope it's a hit. But it feels a bit like extortion slapping 'core' on it and being made to cough up $100 bucks+ just for the fraction of components I'll need for non-1948 games.

The only thing you should (in theory) need are the mapboards...if those are used in non-Korea/-1948 scenarios designed by someone. Those mapboards are sometimes available as individual purchases.

Indochina should only have the British (1945-46) and the French (1947-1954).
And the Viet's (of course)
What would you think about early USMC (1965-1968)? It is mostly conventional with advanced Air assets, notably Helo.

I would enormously look forward to a solid (and no political overtones) Spanish Civil War set. Incredibly varied terrain and unit types. Pre-WWII interests me much more than post-WWII.
