General update. We are working very hard to get a mapboard battlepack out for ASLOK. Timeline is tight though. Five scens remain in testing, but all are very far along in that regard. If we cannot get it to the right quality in time, we will release prior to the end of the year.

In addition to the various HASLs that have been mentioned previously (Hurtgen, Corrigedor, Peleliu), we are working a series of Blood and Jungle like products based on nationality sets, theaters, or themes in general. This will include a host of things, most notably boards and rare counter types.

Some other HASLs or mini-HASLs are there as well, but they are way down the line for us.

I anticipate we will continue to release 1 to 2 products a year depending on various things, but high quality will remain the utmost priority.

Ehi chas tnx for the news but.... what's a "mapboard battlepack"? Something like BtB? Or something more thematic like OC or something more generic like MMP Action Pack?

I want to support your style... quality is better than quantity especially in ASL where there's already many good stuff around!

P.s.: 1-2 product x year is ok also for my wallet.

I assume a "map board battle pack" is your equivalent to an AP, like IttR. I am looking forward to this, even though I don't know what exactly is in it, based on your previous products.

Given what was in B&J, I cannot say that the maps were the main value. There was just too much, to highlight any single type of component, but the maps in IttR and BtB2 were what confirmed my decision to order (2 copies of) B&J.

Having had time to think more deeply about B&J, the aspect of B&J that strikes me most, is the amount of research behind the pack. If future B&J type packs have anything like the same background then even if they are not as massive (I think it would be hard to top B&J), then BFP has a rosy future.

BFP has kept its cards close to its chest and that is understandable. The grief that comes when projects get delayed or cancelled makes one wary. However most (but not all) posters here understand the part time nature of such projects by TPP and I believe will be patient especially given the obvious care and quality of previous releases. Potential future product details are always welcome. Schedules other than the most vague (like "long way down the tracks" or "3 to 6 months") need not be supplied as that only stores up trouble.

Gents,

Yes, next product would be similar to ITR or BTB. 4 boards, one large overlay, 16 scenarios. However, the scenarios are from a wide variety of fronts and nationalities. All the specifics will be released when we are ready to start the preorder process.

All I can say is that we will try, but the timeline is getting tight.

FYI. I believe we have something around 14 boards and 7 DW boards in PT.

Chas:

As always, just expressing anticipation, not demanding. We'll enjoy it when it's done, whenever that is.

7 more DWs...I almost fainted. :yummy:

And appreciate your support here under adverse conditions, too.

just ordered B&J after having been very pleased with ItR. Happy to hear there are additional items in the pipeline.

Right now anticipating we will go to the printers in two weeks or so with the boards. At that time we will start preorders and announce all pertinent information. Four scens remain in PTing, and they are all close to final. If Murphy keeps his head down looks very positive for ASLOK release.

Chas - are the Huertgen and Peleliu HASL's likely to include CG's? Are they going to be big mo-fo's or only treat one small corner of the battlefield? Would like to know as there are other, unnamed, products in the pipeline covering the same areas. Would like to make an informed choice, so any more info (less about schedule and more about content/intent) would be appreciated.

Both will feature CG's. Not enough details on my desk on Huertgen to offer more detailed info. However, re: Peleliu is something I am working on. The map will depict the Umurbrogul Mountains in the center of the island, the airfield and landing beaches, and part of the southern portion of the island south of the airfield. All put together the map will be about 3 feet by 4.5 - 5 feet. One CG will depict the landings and first ten days to take the airfield and southern tip of Bloody Nose Ridge. Second CG will depict clearing out the Japanese from their redoubt in the mountains. I am currently going through the initial PT of CG II now. MArines are almost done for. Japanese are just hanging on, and in one more day the US Army takes over the battle. Look for something like 16 HASL map scenarios and another dozen geo board scenz depicting action just off the HASL map and on Ngesbus and Angaur Islands. A BIG Mo-Fo indeed.
