BREXIT is however having a huge Military impact, no British ASL players at ASLOK this year!

Donald Trump may actually be correct in saying certain NATO allies are not pulling their weight :)
Good God Man!! when you posted this it was actually tea time there, so of course they are not coming. Perspective man, perspective.

Sunday Update - I counted around 43 through the door already by Sunday evening and I probably missed a couple. Fairly impressive amount of early arrivals for a "down" year attendance wise. Official count has pushed to 131 as of Sunday and we're likely on target for 140 which was our target goal in the year following a milestone ASLOK year. We noticed attendance has dipped precipitously falling ASLOK XX & XXV so we figured the same was due following XXX...

The vast majority of attendees descended on Dave Ginnard's as the Official ASLOK Host with the Most put on another grand picnic at his domicile in North Olmsted. Another good spread with traditional burgers, dogs and pulled pork. Frankly the only real downer was the "Ravens" Bud Lite that somehow snuck into Cleveland, much to the glee of Ken Mioduski. The Sunday gathering at Dave's is a truly unique ASL event and we're lucky that he hosts it for ASLOK. If you haven't managed to come in early enough to attend, it's one to put on your bucket list...

The Americans were dominating World Cup play on Sunday and had gotten to within a game overall as the clock pushed 6 PM. I believe it was 8-7 World then. Scott Holst arrived and rallied the American forces under his leadership and was already 2-0 on Sunday to make an early push for US MVP honors. Hopefully the US rally can continue and it's not the World giving us a false sense of hope...

Aside from all the rubble, the most important question is are the two TV's in the game/bar area on so we can watch football (the throwing kind) and is the bar open ?

Ginnard BBQ is truly ASL legend, it makes no sense to come to ASLOK and miss it! Dave and Diane are superb hosts and the Special Domovich Pork Loin was my personal favourite.

Played some superb World Cup games already: Collecchio vs Ginnard (US win), Used and Abused vs Kevin Killeen (US win), Wunderwaffe vs Rob Loper (German loss) and this morning Holding the Hotton Bridge vs Stan Jackson (US Win).

So, is that 3x wins for the US in the World Cup? Or were those the sides in the scenarios?

We need just a touch of precision about these things.....

It's kinda like being gender fluid. He identifies with the World this week. Next week he might identify with the USA...

Pretty soon we will stop asking about gender and start asking about installed plumbing. -- jim

The general rule of thumb is I recommend anyone who can claim World status to go World for quantity of opponent. And given Derek is a Canadian citizen, it's not exactly a reach that he plays for Team World. Now unfortunately for the US he's undefeated so far this year, so perhaps we should look into a trade? ;)

Yes, disappointed not to be there this year, but I had a good run of attendances so can't complain

Hope everyone has a good time :)

In all three World Cup games which I won, I was playing the American forces in the scenario against my US opponent.

Played another game yesterday afternoon, after I got into a Food Fight with Russ Curry. My Communist Stalinist Trotskyist and Socialist partisans successfully raided the village and killed a whole bunch of Ukrainian Nationalist Fascist Conservative Bourgeois Sympathisers without Any Real Ethos.

In the killing frenzy, my Partisans never bothered to look for any of the famous food parcels.

I had planned to rally and then deploy my first broken squad under the political guidance of my Commissar. The Commissar shot the squad. Then the Commissar murdered the remaining HS.

No Food for us, then.

....my poor Ukranians were too worried about shooting incident horses....afraid of hearing from P.E.T.A.

Fun game!

World Cup now at 25-12 as of early Tuesday Morning

I have had great games on Sunday against Gary Bartlett BFP 147 Commissar's Folly as Russian lost when I couldn't roll a 7 on last close combat.

Yesterday played and won FrF Playtest Scenario against Scott Holst as Russians (Red Tears shed on Grey), ASL199 Ace in the Hole won as Americans against Time Briedley, and SP248 Mango Tango against Ed Beekman as Americans.

6-2 overall and 5-2 World Cup at the moment. The Reissued Ace in the Hole was great fun and poses all sorts of interesting challenges for both sides, Scott didn't enjoy the FrF playtes tbut I thought the scenario had good potential.

Tuesday Morning Update

World Cup started the day at World 26 US 14 as the World went 12-5 on Monday thanks to their Canadian reinforcements late arrival. Derek Ritter notching another win this morning knocking off Pete Shelling to make it 27-14 currently.

Derek is now +4 for the World while Peter & Philippe are still +3. The US MVP race remains the same with Stan Jackson at +3 & Rob Loper +2...

Get that bum outta there!

Yes, Hildebran's walking out to the mound... he's motioning for the left-hander...

NOW (ow..ow..ow..) in for Shelling (ing...ing...ing...)... pitching left handed (ded...ded...ded...)... Russ Curry (urry...urry...urry)

Where's Marty Snow? Y'all need some more Coloradda blood to stiffen the US line!
