I watched my daughter graduate from the Naval Academy and get her commission as an Ensign. She'll go to flight school in Pensacola.

It was a great excuse to buy a new HD Camcorder.

Not on TV, but I rented a Russian language TV series (on DVD, subtitled, on Netflix), called The Cadets. It's sort of a Band of Brothers, Soviet Style about a group of young artillery officer candidates, going through "OCS" together (they hear reports from Stalingrad, so it must be late 42). It's no Band of Brothers by any stretch, but it's interesting to see another side.

Since we'd seen all the war movies offered on TV recently, anyway, we went with the LOTR Marathon on Saturday ... the Hobbit Burgers (little mini-burgers, stuffed with various things like sausage, cheese, bacon, peppers and onions, etc) went down a storm.

Sunday was a day for relaxation, and yesterday, we watched the Star Trek: Enterprise marathon on SciFi Channel. Never watched the first-run episodes, so it was interesting to watch.

We also did the local Memorial Day parade/ceremony (daughter is in the marching band, and they march and play) ... shed a few tears in memory of our nephew ("Taps" just brings it all back again).

Gettysburg. I'm not a Jeff Daniels fan, but Chamberlain's bayonet charge down Little Round Top was cool.

Also watched the 1951 version of Red Badge of Courage staring Audie Murphy.
