All,

I finally put all of the latest stuff (recolored boards and overlays, updates to the Ye Old Booke) in one place.

The VASL Map Bazaar

Hopefully this'll give people one place to find the v5-colored VASL boards and paraphernalia. When I put out a new board or update an old one, it'll get announced here and updated there.

Are they official? Nah. Probably on "permanent beta" status, to borrow a phrase from Google. Still, we all can learn from a little indefiniteness in our lives.

Enjoy, and please report any broken links or other problems to me.
many thanks

Made a few updates to the Bazaar today - the YoB Appendix D (Hill Numbers) and E (Thumbnails of official and TPM geo boards) files have been updated.

OK, I've added board 6ab to the Map Bazaar, and updated all of the boards with the Scenario Special Overlays required for Action Pack 8. This entailed updating these boards:
board 02 to v5.4
board 4a to v5.4
board 40 to v5.2
board 60 to v5.1
board 5a/b to v5.2
board 1a to v2.1

You can get the whole shebang (new boards 6ab, plus the updated boards above) here: http://home.comcast.net/~tomrepetti/boards/AP8boardupdates.zip

Check it out. I think there's some pretty cool terrain changes in there.
many thanks!

Two updates tonight:
bd17 has been brought up to SK-style standard and adds Alan Findlay's BSO Challenge winner. You'll need that overlay to play Pete Shelling's scenario Poteau Party, designed specifically for it.

bd10 has been updated to add Steve Pleva's winning entry for the bd10 BSO Challenge

Thanks Tuomo for both.

Very nice, thanks!

When setting up Poteau Party, I had to place the hi12 overlay on hexes 2bK12/L11. The overlay wouldn't appear when I tried to place it on 2bAA12/BB11. I think VASL thinks 2bAA12/BB11 equals 2bK12/L11 but wouldn't show the overlay in the former location for some reason.

Allen & Tuomo,

Confirm the problem w/ overlay Hi 12. It needs to be placed on 2bK12/L11.

Also in SSR 2, there is something about placing 17C "normally" Could someone explain this overlay to me? Or is this something that that could be solved with a bit of proofreading?

One final gripe: VASL could use a wall/hedge conversion to barbed-wire fences either as a Terrain variable or as a draggable, preferably both.

Yeah, when placing an overlay, VASL doesn't understand the hex numbering for side b of the 17x20 boards. Sorry; I suspect it's something the Code Gnomes could fix, but I haven't brought it up to them.

As far as placing 17C "normally", if you use the VASL board, just click the checkbox for the BSO Contest Winner; it'll get placed where it should be. I should probably fix that on the scenario card. If you're using hardcopy maps and overlays, I trust you can figure it out yourself :)

Oh, and I concur about the barbed-wire fence thing.

Not a big deal once figured out. A short text note with instructions included with the 17x20 boards download would be helpful.

Couple of updates:

The Winter Offensive '12 boards are up: board 64 board 65

And since one of the WO'12 scenarios involves a Scenario-Specific Overlay for bd 57, we've updated that as well: board 57

Board 08 has been updated to v5.32 to remove the CC6/DD5 and EE6/EE7 cliffs, which should not be in there.

Download it here

Fixed board 14 so that the stone buildings are correct. Download the fixed board here

This board will be updated to full SK style once VASL v5.9.3 comes out. It gets such treatment because it's got Sunk/Elevated Roads, which are undergoing a fix in v5.9.3 and thus require new versions for those boards which have them.

Fixed board 11 and put in the missing hedge line from FF0/GG0 to FF2/GG3. Sorry about how long it took to fix that.
