I have to agree with glennbo's point back upthread. Taht agne Friday never shoudl ahve been satretd given the forecast. Losing verlander will kill the Tigers and propel teh Yankees inot teh next round - and probably ebyond. if they ahd to see Verlander twice - i think the Ynakess would have fallen, but now I think they win Game 5 in the Bronx behind Nova. I furtehr strngly suspect that Texas lacks the pitching and the Yankees will coast to teh World Series.

Here's a Met fan, rooting hard for the Phillies. Go Phils go - no one else will stop the Yanks.
I don't think the Yanks have the pitching to make it thru the first series much less win the WS. Nova is the only real threat. CC is too hit & miss and everyone else is just average at best.

Tigers just beat the Yankees. Grrrrrrrrrreat as Tony would say. I just checked, Arod is due another $143 million over the next six years. That will make it hard for the Yanks to stay competitive unless the owners remain comfortable forking massive amounts of $$$ over every year for the luxury tax. If the Brew crew and Cardinals win we could have a terrific Midwest baseball final four. ESPN would implode.

The Yanks don't seem to care about the luxury tax.

I think ESPN and Fox have already imploded with no Yankees or Red Sox. I would love to see the Brewers- Tigers match-up. Even though I am an A's fan my dad is from Detroit so I have a soft spot for them.
Rangers and Brewers both going for their first championships would be cool too. I'll definitely listen too the radio while watching the tube though. Joe Buck and McCarver are unbearable.

According to Elias: ARod is the first guy to make the final out in consecutive years.

Yankee elimination day is one of the finer days of the year. Ah! Schadenfreude! Thy name is bliss!

If the Cardinals beat the Phillies and then get to the World Series I won't watch a single pitch. Phillies vs Brewers intrigue me enough to watch an inning or two. I might watch a game or two of Phillies vs Tigers.

Baseball has fallen so far for me that I don't really care too much about it any more. There's too many old fuddy-duddys running things.

Baseball is broken.

I wouldn't say it is broken, but Seligula needs to go. The playoff format he wants next year is asinine and he caters to village idiots such as Loria and Angelos.

ESPN and Fox have hurt the game too I think with their constant blathering about Red Sox Yankees all the time. MLB needs to promote all the teams not just those two.

As a Tigers fan, it is all the sweeter. And not being a fan of large contracts to begin with, just a cherry on the cake with ARod being the final out....

Anytime the Yankees lose and A-Fraud makes negative history is a great day in my book. I can't stand any of those jokers.

Shut you sassy mouth, bïtch! Jeter is loved by all!

AFraud is constantly making negative history. Ever notice how many times the 3rd slot (Cano in this series) was IBB to get to ARod? Even loaded the bases to get to him at least once. He is the least dangerous hitter on the Yanks. What a tool!

The fact that they were together for 3 years......I like Jeter-but I admit to a bias in that he's originally from MICHIGAN (and of the current roster, he's one of the home grown products ie a yankee from their farm system.)

Detroit looks ot eb a little banged up - and down 1-0 after a Verlander satrt. i like the Rangers chances of getting back to the series and I love the Brewers to take out the Cardinals. Hmmmm....could be a big year for Wisconsin sports.

There is something to be said for a Detroit vs Milwaukee Series....but I think the Brewers chances of winning it are greater if Texas makes it.

I'm hoping for the Lions and Packers to still be unbeaten by Thanksgiving...It would make that game a classic!

Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, Phillies, Los Angeles...they make the baseball season so much better by choking.

Wow! The Tigers lose to an extra-inning walk-off grand slam?! OUCH!

We'd better win tonight or it's gonna be scary/hopeless. I'm a big Tigers fan. But I'm not gonna sit here and tell you they can win four in a row against the Rangers in the post season.

We can come back from 2-0. But probably not from 3-0. So tonight's game could basically decide the series.

I find myself rooting for the Cardinals. In terms of my Theory of Team's Names a Brewer is a guy who eats, sleeps, and goes about his business pretty much like all of us.

But a Cardinal is a little raptor with a cool haircut. The thing's mean, beady little black eyes are utterly heartless. It kills things with it's face! It stabs them with it's sharp beak and rends them with it's tiny talons. We're all damn lucky the things aren't ten feet tall!

Brewers don't kill anything. Theye're docile. They just eat pizza. Now a Brewer who went psycho and started slaughtering people with an AK47 would inspire some fear and respect. But the team doesn't seem to want to project this image.

So the Cardinals get the nod.
