Hi ya;
Its been some time since I communicated with you all, I'm still in the middle east, but I should be home by november, no ASLOK for me : (
Anyway how goes the hobby? I see there is still no AoO or FKaC but hopefully we will see those modules before the year is out.

Much the same as usual. Lots of overexcitability and screaming. The current hot topic is, I believe, Mr Tapio. Plus ca change...
And that isn't an invitation for anyone to bring it all up here as well :roll:

They're waiting 'til you get back before publishing anything...

Also, the ASLML web interface is no longer functioning, the individual who was hosting it is no longer doing so.

Its unfortunate because the interface was a far superior way to follow the various threads and filter out the massive amount of junk that the list generates each day.

The link to the site works and once you are at the site you can access the FAQ link but if you hit the thread, date, or author buttons you get a message that says the site is broken or busy. I am not sure what the problem is but it is definitely not working.

Hmm, works fine for me; maybe your ISP is being cranky :)
I cannot enter the thread areas either. Michael B. said that it was going down for the count soon, so I assume it will not be up again, at least at that address. Brian Youse is looking into MMP providing the same service.

Actually, I think that the list, and the ASL world in general, has been very quite the last few months. There have been some extended rules arguments, but that is normally a good thing; even if rules arguments are not your thing, they are normally somewhat civil. Not many CH vs. MMP posts and they have died out quickly.

I would say that the biggest trend in the hobby right now is the number of scenario packs being published. There have been two new publishers entering the frey, Frantic Enterprises (Paul Kenny (sp?)), and the Southeast California group's Melee packs. That makes 8 producers of ASL products that I can think of.

If I am not mistaken, I thought there was an announcement on the ASLML that this person finished thier PHD and thus the resource needed a new home.

Perhaps i thas not yet been trandsferred

FYI: The buttons do nothing in my netscape browser either

Well, that's too bad it's going away; I enjoy using that interface.

Hopefully MMP will pick it up, as Brian suggested.

We're looking into it, but MMP resides on a shared server and our web guy thinks we may need a dedicated host to make the changes to allow the ASLML web interface to happen.

I should know more this week.
