The VASL elves have been hard at work on all of the counters that came with both Blood & Jungle AND Cobra, along with the new B&J mapboards (Thanks, Tuomo and Counterman!). Have already had one round of quality review of everything and fixes being made now. The counters and maps look fantastic.

It shouldn't be long folks.

totally irrevelant info for you here, but according to the traditional vaslmapcabal taxonomy, only the map-people are Elves. Us counter-people are more properly referred to as Trolls, thenkyewverymuch. We even have our own counter, give a ctrl-T to the Destroyed Bridge marker, shoot me if i'm lyin'. There's also a CodeGnome or two working far behind the scenes on the javacode.

Srsly though, this work for B&J (including BFP Cobra) was greatly aided by BFP's whole-hearted commitment to the VASL community, they gave me ev'ry possible aid & encouragement to VASLize their product. I had weeks of fun with the artfiles they sent me, lately we've been exchanging files, trying to eliminate those pesky errors that occur whenever the ctrman (troll, not elf) gets his sausage-fingered hands on a new module.

These BFP modules are the best thing goin' in ASL lately, i'm proud to have contributed my end to their VASLization.

Yup. They make it very simple and easy for the Elves to work on their boards. The final product is higher quality and gets pushed out faster as a result. We appreciate it.

Interesting. There is another publisher from who I used to buy items selectively assuming they would eventually get VASLized. They still do not make maps available for their products. Now, I will no longer purchase their products at all. Good to see BFP is so supportive of their customers.

Cheers!

Excellent job translating the graphic style of the counters.
translation, h*ll - the BFP guys sent me their original artwork (silhouettes for vehicles, guns, SW & personnel) in gif files, which eliminated half the work as compared to chopping out the images from a ctrsheet scan. The end-result looks a lot more like the original ctrs instead of the usual pixel-hash blobs.

I stand corrected. But I still appreciate your work on VASL counters. So take that! ;)

Assuming you're talking about CH, I'm not sure that's entirely fair. I don't do CH maps for personal reasons, but Pete Roberts recently got permission to do some, and posted his results via this thread.

Oh, alright, Tom, you're awesome, too.
Awesomer than Counterman, you mean! :)

The Map Elves were done like a WEEK AGO but NOOOOO, we had to "coordinate our releases" with those ugly slow-moving Counter Trolls! And then they scoop us on the announcement and make it look like they were done first!

To the battle lines, me hearties! Take up thy longbows!

sad but true, the ctrman is less awesomely funkified than Tuomo, 'cept in the ugly dept.

but I totally chumped you there, despite being slow (Conscript, Inexperienced, & Leader Movement Bonus NA). Eckshully, i shoulda included the links to your mapfiles in my post, but decided not to since they weren't front-paged yet. So i completely blew the whole 'coordinated release' action.

live on VASL - Elf vs. Troll CAGE MATCH !!eleventy1! - if i can only find my copy of LotR.mdx...
