I completed 51 scenarios; did better last year, but still pretty good.

I found two more local players for FTF play-yippee!!

I went to ASLOK for the 3rd straight year.

I played my first Seaborne Assault scenario (Mike Red).

I created an Italian Hero. 'nuff said.

Can't wait for next year!

Well 2005 turned out to be O.K: 16-W 5-L Incomplete-1. But, 2006 got off to a bad start last night when I lost A19 for my first game of '06.

From a designing perspective this was my best year as I got 2 scenarios published in Journal 6, and on top of that J94 being the most played ASL-scenario this year - super! :D

After not playing for 11 years, this year I started playing at the monthly group's meetings, met a FTF opponent with whom I play weekly, have completed four campaign games (no Red Barricades yet, but it's coming), and I'm even playtesting!
Excellent year.
I may even attend a tournament next year :surprise:

The Good Side of Woe

Had my best year of ASL since I started playing in November of 1999.

Finished 2nd at Winter Offensive, went 5-1 and lost to Chad Cummins who won it all

3rd at Winter War, went 4-1 and lost to Wes Vaughn who won it all, Jim Burris was 2nd.

8th at ASL Open at 5-2. Won the Team Championship with my partners Randy Shurtz and Mike Seningen. My good friend and tournament roommate Randy Shurtz beat Steve Pleva. We went 17-4 as a team.

3rd at Texas Team Tournament, went 5-1 and lost to Zeb Doyle who won it all, Wes Vaughn was 2nd.

Won a mini at ASLOK beating Mike Black, Paul Haesler (Australia) and Stan Jackson in three tough games.

Want to thank my good friend Randy Shurtz as we help each other improve our game. Randy also was key in helping me playtest scenarios for our Albany tournament.

Also enjoy the friendly competition from Wes Vaughn, Jim Burris and Doug Kirk. These three amigos always are a tough go when we hook up at tournaments Really enjoy playing you guys and if people ever get the chance to play one of these three great players at a tournament jump at the chance.

We had another great tournament in Albany this year and Joe Leoce and myself are already working on the raffle prizes and next years scenario list. We will have a website this year as well.

Good luck to all in the New Year. Hope to see you all at Albany or at any other tournament. No better place to improve and enjoy this great game.

I had a great ASL year....

Played 5(!) FtF matches, which brings my total in 7 years to 7 FtF matches. Met Chas Smith and Dan Best, both great guys. Went 2-3, which I consider great against those two worthy adversaries.

Played 26 VASL pbem matches, going 8-18 :( . Plagued by an 0-7 vs Ron Mosher, my lastest "why can't I beat this guy?" opponent. I think he's just been around too long.

My goal for 2006 is to make a tournament....I would have this year except for a little thing called Katrina.

2005 brought me back into ASL, so I suppose it was good.
Plus I won the first FTF scenario after my return so I ended the year with zero losses and this makes it even better

Awesome ASL year.

Finally learned chapters A-D 20 years or so after buying my first rulebook (4th attempt to get into the game).
Finally learned SASL 10 years after buying it.
Played about 20 PBEM games.
Started playing Red Barricades with SASL rules I'm developping.

The key to it finally catching is finding some great VASL logs and text files on here showing how it's supposed to be done (thanks to Digit, Sam Belcher and Tuomi).
