I think Marks original point is that those groups/clubs that host are used to those special SSR's and would have an advantage as they have many more hours of gaming those rules in. That may be so, and I would agree with Mark there.
Banning Kindling and the use of passenger vehicles for anything but carrying passengers requires "many more hours" of practice in order to be competitive? I'm not sure I'm buying that given that the bans seem to be on stuff no one does anyway.

In professional sports, teams use the same ball to remove this possibility of unfainess (okay, maybe Tom Brady excepted).
This is not true, and in fact Tom Brady was not an exception - in the NFL (and the CFL) each team uses its own balls while on offence in every game. The quarterbacks are allowed to inspect the balls before the game and I believe they are rubbed down by the teams in order to remove any residual film from the manufacturing process. The balls are surrendered to the officials shortly in advance of the game.

I stand corrected. But while the ball is in play, each team is using that one same ball. That is the point I was trying to make. Maybe it makes more sense when thinking about hockey or soccer, where each team is simulataneously on offense and defense.

But...Brady and the Patriots definitely did some funny things to their own balls.
You're correct in that there were definitely accusations that they deliberately deflated the balls to make them easier to throw and catch. I would find it very easy to believe the officials didn't bother testing each ball's air pressure to ensure it was in the range of the correct PSI. The reports contained ambiguous language and weasel words and I'm reasonably sure that a) the full truth will be never known and b) only die hard Patriots fans/haters will bother to care at this point. As someone who enjoyed rooting for "anyone but Brady" I can't help but be impressed by his likeability, raw talent and longevity. The Patriots were accused of other types of cheating too, but I think Brady proved his personal worth by once again winning Super Bowl MVP AFTER leaving the Patriots.

Yes, all valid points.

I used a variety of dice, none precision. Fish used a white die and a yellow one. I don't know where my BV went to.
I've used a Red and Black several times. I've been questioned about which is the colored die. Me: "Red, because black is the absence of color."

This applies to every level of football. I remember in high school the coaches being pissed if one of the balls designated for the offense was used in the kicking game. Balls were changed out all the time.

Imposing the use of precision dice if required is, I dare say, morally disgusting: it glorifies superstition and tries to impose an irrational belief.
Why not require players to pray "Our Father in Heaven" or the wearing of a rabbit's paw at the start of every game?
While I would not go as far as calling it 'disgusting', I do find that SSR ridiculous.

And I heartily agree with the rest.
