Translation:
Eat now, or there won't be any left when you finish talking
Also, that's not the translation. A more accurate translation is "In matters of taste there can be no disputes." The point is, if you like HASLs or DASL--both of which I despise--who am I to tell you are wrong? And that's all this whole thread is about. It's the old "Taste great!" -- "Less filling!" argument. -- jim

You got your peanut butter in my chocolate.....

These days, I get mostly crickets in the office when I use these and other 'common' pop culture phases.

Ancient Chinese secret huh?

The only options are 1) to play by the personal ASL rules of the tournament director or 2) don't go.
I think you should not underestimate option 3):
Mutually agree with your opponent to ignore a specific tournament rule.
If neither player gives a damn about precision dice, for example, I have yet to see the TD who will impose them on both - even if the tournament rules mandate precision dice.

Yes, actually I do.😭
It was a fun game!
I do, sort of, but ASL is such a huge leap forward, no doubt it was the right thing to do.

Too bad you don't do VASL, I would love to play some of the older scenarios with you, VASL is the most important thing that could of happened to this game and many other games, it is a miracle for me in this hobby. Younger generations are mainly disinterested in board games but put it on a computer and the entire conversation changes...

Show them the self-defense sized RB and it changes right back again. ;-)

Robin Reeve do not attend tournaments, but I agree he should run his own event together with Mark P and Bruce P.
I agree with what you are saying 100%.

And, speaking as someone who has, it is not easy. I, personally, found it extremely stressful (for a hobby that is supposed to be fun). And for that reason I bailed out after running a tournament for only four years.

It's very easy to chip in and double guess, interrogate and in some instances make pejorative remarks about TDs. But until someone's actually tried running a tournament then they should be careful how far they go in prosecuting their criticism.
