Remember what Scotty said in the Star Trek reboot - "Imagine that! It never occurred to me to think of SPACE as the thing that was moving!"

So to simulate a moving train, you just SSR the the train is in perpetual motion, and have all the terrain and units move in relation to it. Each Rph for the player who owns the train, all counters and terrain moves "x" number of hexes in the direction opposite the direction the train is travelling. Thus the train remains in the middle of the map, and the other units move in relation to it.

I'm sure you could fit such an SSR onto one card....
I wonder what the doppler effect would be?

A moving train can take hundreds of meters to stop.
I doubt that many partisans ambushed moving trains in a Western's way.
They blew up the rails to wreck the train and sow chaos in the enemy logistics.
Most of the time, trains were protected by soldiers and resistance guys avoided direct confrontation.
But there still may have been situations looking like a good Western movie, and ASL is a good movie simulation, as we all know. ??
If only the partisans had seen Rio Lobo...

You would need a board setup similar to The Road to Wiltz or longer to use a train in a manner they were actually employed in.
Could this board setup, expanded out to several boards, 8 or more, be done on VASL? This could be pretty cool. A super long Road to Wiltz.

The train rolling along. As one board is about to be crossed the next appears. There may be partisans set up in ambush, but where? Just fantasizing, you know what railroad porno can do!?????

As cargo it would be ok.?

Did you notice the site was weird a little bit ago? I went to post a reply, it said there was a problem. Tried to login and couldn't. When I did get in all new posts were gone all the way back to September 22nd! I posted to the mods, logged off. Came back, everything is normal but my post to the mods is gone. Localized time distortion???

There was a server migration. You posted on old server, logged off it and when login again, pointed to new server, hence post to mods is gone.

I prefer the "localized time distortion" theory better. Makes the day a little more interesting and tolerable.

Well, this brings me to conclude that you are leading a fast life. A very fast one, in fact. If your velocity is high enough, time might indeed get distorted...
