Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any scenario titles up their sleeve that they have thought of and would like to see the light of day.
There is one title that I've thought of to go with an Eastern Front battle in high summer on the Russian plains;
"Midsummer Days Nightmare", which is of course a take on Shakespeares "Midsummer Nights Dream".
It would be a big scenario with the Russians attacking with multiple AFV and mobile infantry (riders?) vs a thinly held German line of die-hard defenders. It would take place on Steppe terrain and the German would have a few fortifications for extra 'bite'.
Also "The Warren" which would be the USMC attacking a warren of caves and pillboxes and trenches on Iwo Jima.
Since I don't expect to design these scenarios and have them published I thought I'd share their ideas with you.

Cheers, Jan.

A warren of caves?

Never heard that term before...unless you mean like a place to breed rabbits or something similar?

So I guess a warren of caves breeds Japs?

HEHEHE....just joking with ya!

A knock down drag out PTO action with caves and blood and guts galore.

The entire US OOB consists of a single Heroic 10-3 leader who holds off a German platoon and a PzIVH using a MG scrounged from a wreck, a Bazooka, 2 DCs, his wits, and bar of chocolate.

You just said the title had to be legitimate, not the scenario.

Was working on this

Used my now missing Divisional History book to create G42 and was working on more. There was a town near Authie, where the Canadians met the 12th SS PD off the beaches. The town was called Rot. Canadian Commandos were to take this town against units of the 12th SS Division. Called it Rots in Hell. Thought that was pretty good and simple...

Two I have thought of after reading Richard Frank's Guadalcanal were:

Custer's Last Plan: LCOL Frank Goettge and Sgt. Steven Custers abortive patrol west of the Matanikau. Only 3 Marines survived.

First Fire: The first recorded use of a flamethrower in the PTO by the Japanese, but they were dispatched very quickly.

Just random thorghts...

A scenario recreating the action in which Lt. Murphy earns a Purple Heart.

Canada had no Commando troops in Normandy, though.

Bloody Buron has been the title of both a book and several Combat Mission scenarios based on the fighting there (it was near Rot and Authie).

"Lead on, MacDuff" is a good for a british attack scenario..

"Slaughter-house 5" would be a great title for tight city fight...

Well, it would be if Shakespeare had written that instead of "Lay on, McDuff" which is the actual quote...
Well if you want to get "technical" like that I guess.. However "Lay on, McDuff" is still a pretty rad title.

"Lead on, McDuff" is also from "Burmese Days by Orwell. So either way, it is is a great scenario title

I think you're getting it confused with "Lay off Duff" which was the advice Dr. Hibbert gave to Homer.
Na, I've got this one right as I just read the page with that line like 2 minutes ago. Its what the head of the police says right before someone enters a room. He says it 2 times during the first scene at the European club.

hey,
One I really like is "The Cost of Allegiance". I think it sums up the scenario
pretty well. Shelling has seen it. Lots of Axis Minor goodies...
And "All Guns Blazing"; another one Shelling has in his mits. WAY early
Barbarossa madness.

Very nice Bendizoid. How about these for the artistically and gastronomically inclined who ordered on Black Friday:

Mousse with Mussolini, wherein our intrepid paratroopers attempt to rescue Cher from a resort in the Italian Alps. The scenario would call for multiple copies of board 9.

Mussolini's Moussaka, set in Cephalonia. This would have a 9-2 leader for Captain Corelli (changed to a 6+1 if the balance provision for using Nicolas Cage is used:devious: ) and once again feature multiple copies of board 9.

I hoard all my legitimate scenario titles, but I'll offer up the borderline, "Blood Tsunami". :devious:
