From what hes told me he has no ethernet port on his modem xD... So I suggest getting a router or the other modem with an ethernet port if your ISP provides one.

I have my ethernet cable plugged straight in the back of the modem and then the other end to the 360, and it worked first time.

I don't understand the pic because of your gay crap attempt to make a layout <3

But let me try to settle this for you. It seems your connecting it from the ethernet source. Try getting another ethernet cable and connecting it from your router to your 360.

Another solution is Direct connections, modem - 360

Seems that your modem is downstairs, either buy the wireless thing or move it upstairs.

mine was... ethernet cable > router > wireless dongle on laptop > ethernet to 360...

Worked for a while...

@ SC He doesnt have an ethernet port on his Modem so cant do that. Far as I know he doesnt have a router either.

You'll need either a router or modem with ethernet port...

Atm mine goes Cable from outside > Modem > USB to PC + Ethernet to 360, I just restart the modem if I want to swap from one to the other...

his problem is that "ethernet" cable is actally a telephone extension cable.

Sprig you need to get a router mate or run a bit of Cat5 crossover to the computer (if it has an ethernet port) and run internet connection sharing.

other option is to buy a router and use ethernet (cat5 utp) to the 360 and laptop.

3rd option is to buy a wireless router and then either the xbox360 wireless adaptor and put the router downstairs > ethernet to the laptop.

4th option is to buy a wireless router, put it next to the 360 on the other end of the extension cable and then get a wireless adaptor for the laptop (prob be cheaper than a wireless adaptor for the 360)

infact if the laptop has a pcmcia/cardbus card slot this might be of interest.

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/103183/rb/23228753432 probably a special offer price doubt it will be 35quid for long.
