Hi,
the situation is that we have a vehicle in bypass in a building hex, the vehicle is placed on the hexside between the building hex and a open ground hex next to it as the rules say this is how you place a vehicle in bypass (D2.34). The hex next to the open ground hex is another building hex contains an enemy infantry squad.
in the advance phase can the enemy squad advance into the open ground hex (assuming it passes any PAATC and any other restrictions etc are ok) and attack the vehicle in CC?
The vehicle is located on the hexside but is actually bypassing in the building hex according to the bypass rules (D2.3), however, the rules say that the hex is "the area inside the six hexsides which comprise a hex including the hexsides and their vertices"(From Index), the bypass rules say that a bypassing vehicle indicates that the bypassing vehicle is moving 'in' the hex that the obstacle (in this case the building) is in but if ending it's movement in bypass (stopped or in motion) it is placed on the hexside , A location is defined as a 'hex' as well as the sub divisions stated in the rules. From these definitions I take it that the vehicle is effectively in 'both' the building hex and the open ground hex as it is on the hexside which by the hex definition is part of both hexes
CC against a vehicle must have the infantry after it's advance in the same location as the vehicle.
Is the vehicle bypassing the building in the building hex and just on the hexside as a mechanism to indicate this and thus not in the location that the infantry has advanced into and thus the infantry cannot CC it or is the vehicle on the hexside in which case it seems to me that the squad is in the same location and can CC it.
Any help would be appreciated
