Hi all:

Can someone explain to me the tip form the trenches regarding Street Fighting in Journal 15?

Ex: a russian squad (CCV 5) has already fired (First Fired) and then a German AFV CT with MG enters in bypass its location. It keeps in motion.

Whats are the odds?
I use to play it as a CCV of 5, -1 (FF), and DRM +2 (Motion AFV) - 1 (Street fighting): need a 3.
I think its ok if I read "A dose of antifreeze" in journal 12 (page 5)

I read that tip on journal 15 that says than Street fighting DRM is NA if already marked with a fire counter (D7.211).... CCV of 5 -1 (FF), and DRM +2 (Motion AFV) : need a 2.

For sure I do something wrong....

TIA

The tip is basically reinforcing the following Q&A:

A11.8
What are the SFF CC RF options of Infantry in this case (Say a squad which has passed a PAATC seeking to attack a good order AFV on the 2nd MP of a bypass of a woods/building the squad is in)?
  1. Cannot make a SFF RF at all as constrained from so doing by “as their defensive first fire attack”.
  2. Can make a SFF RF attack but does not receive the -1 Street fighting ambush DRM (Hence need a Final CC DR of 5 +2 Motion +1 SFF = 2).
  3. Can make a SFF RF attack and receive the -1 Street fighting ambush DRM (Hence need a Final CC DR of 5 +2 Motion +1 SFF -1 Street Fighting = 3).
A. #2; SFF is a form of Defensive First Fire.

I would guess that the logic is that a vehicle is not going to be caught by surprise by a unit that has already betrayed its location by firing.

D7.211: "However, Street Fighting CC Reaction Fire may not be attempted by a unit that is, and/or possesses a SW-(including Inherent)/Gun that is, already marked with a First/Final/Intensive/No Fire counter."

I mean, it seems like it's more than the tip in J15 saying that....
What is leading you to believe that a First Fired unit can use Street Fighting CC RF? Once we get that info, maybe we can resolve the impasse.

I think this is a case of the rule for Street Fighting when one moves into a road Location (and back again) - quoted above - is also applied to Street Fighting vs a VBMing vehicle (because that also uses SF).

I am less certain that was the original intention when it comes to SF vs a VBMing vehicle...ymmv. :)
