I'm still not sure what the game will actually be like, but it is definitely clear that it probably will be quite unlike anything else out there on the market!

Salem is already known for its Permadeath mechanic where in-game characters that succumb to the harsh wilderness environment, or are mortally wounded by other players will die permanently. The crime and punishment system involves the creation of a scent of evil when players commit crimes against others in game. This enables players seeking retribution or revenge to take matters into their own hands to exact justice.

All I can say is, sounds like paradise for griefers. I sure hope they know exactly what they intend to do about that, and I also hope they'll have someone in the testing process whose role is, quite literally, trying to get away with murder.
