Of all the parts of the game, the counters are I suppose the most essential. No counters, ya got nothing.

I kinda wish the counters were a purchasable item. Counter sheets that is. The actual official counter sheets. Nothing non standard, just as they would come in the box. But without all the other items.

Counters get lost, they get worn out. Sometimes I even invent other uses for them outside of the game.

I'm thinking of repurchasing Yanks, British, BV for Russians/Germans as well as misc counters. Yes, there is so much more to ASL than that, but that's always been the meet of the game for me. Yes, hard to play Fall of France without French or minors. But I confess, I couldn't care less about 39-41 for the most part. I like playing Russian Front and Sicily oward. Guess I need those Italians :)

But I'm awash in scenarios, and I have boards coming out of my ears. But during a moment of insanity, I sold off my original core collection (oh it was grand, 1-52 mounted). My counters are a mix of Squad Leader used castoffs and creative creations. They're ok, but they kinda look fugly too.

I'm prepared to order the 4 modules and just accept the fact a lot will be redundant. But fresh shiny new counters...

Yes, I also have a fondness for just playing with Squad Leader rules, and I also like Retro (very neat concept actually), but I don't mind using ASL kit. Not to mention, a lot of ASL counters don't exist in the Squad Leader universe.

I agree on counter sheets. I missed out on the Valor of the Guards module, and would love to get my mitts on some Soviet NKVD counters from that mod. I wish MMP would sell counter sheets.

As Vinnie says get the Russian counter sheets from Broken ground they are included as well as AE versions of most types and Fanatic versions of all types.

MMP will sell you individual countersheets IF they have spares available. They have extras produced when they reprint a module, in case there is a mix up in packaging them. I have been able to buy just the sheets from both For King and Country, and Armies of Oblivion direct from them. You just have to send them an email to see what sheets they have extras of.
But...I MUST endorse Vinnie's point. I have two sets of all of Broken Ground Design counters and they are all I use, except for Korean War scenarios...he hasn't made those yet.

You can sometimes find counter sheets on eBay. Also, recommend posting what you are looking for in the marketplace, here and other places like Discord. Folks in the community are often pretty accommodating.
