Kataku makes some good points. I don't really want to see DUST 514 fail because that will only hurt CCP, but I won't be surprised if it flops.

The article is right about this:

It will be hugely difficult to implement, actually subtract from the gameplay experience and cause CCP endless headaches.

As it is, I don't see the point of getting too invested in planetary development when you don't really know what's going to happen to your investment once DUST goes live. HOWEVER, if CCP can pull this off, it could be an evolutionary step in cross-platform gaming.

Great ideas are always risky, but that's what makes them great.

PS: Personally, I am more concerned over the impact their horror MMO might have on the company. I don't understand why CCP would launch another MMO that, despite the genre difference, will still be a competitor to EvE.
