I asked at the Axis History Forum about the Tiny Tim rocket. Here is the question and the answer that I recieved: It seems that the Tiny Tim supplied in B&J was only used at Okinawa;
QUESTION: Quote:
The "Tiny Tim" 200mm rocket was developed in 1944 by the US and was being used in '45. It could be used vs shipping, but was also used as a 'bunker buster' on the Pacific Islands. It was carried and dropped by American fighter-bombers.
I know it was used at Okinawa. Does anyone have any information which says it was used earlier? Like on Iwo Jima?
I am specifically interested if the "Tiny Tim" was used vs fortifications in the battle of Iwo Jima - I'm not sure if it was being used offensively that early in '45.
Thankyou.

No, it was not used in combat against Iwo Jima, the only two carriers with the "Tiny Tim" aboard were the USS Intrepid and the USS Franklin. The USS Franklin was put out of action on March 19, 1945, when she was some 50 miles of the coast of Japan, and before she had a chance to use her "Tiny Tim" rockets in combat. Thus, it fell to the USS Intrepid to make the first combat use of these rocket on March 24, 1945, against caves on Okinawa.
