Hello
Your welcome, hopefully someday I’ll redo and complete Jena. Presently I don’t have that game, but if I had the book Napoleon’s Apogee, I might get fired up to complete.

Please do not stop your great work!! It makes the series so much more bearable and fun....I know there are still a lot of people who play and and will always...regardless of Les Grognards or not...I just wish HPS would get some games out... :D

Just wanted to say:

Thanks ezjax for your fantastic mods! I enjoy a lot your Units and 2D :hail:

So you have stopped doing them and you have switched to Histwars: Les Grognards?

What a pity , I would like to see in the future your mod for the upcoming (I guess :D) Peninsular War

ezjax! Welcome back!

Well, I am new here so probably is a bit strange that I welcome you :)

How can you help? You already know it ;), but not sure whether you are still interested in modding HPS napoleonic or not? :OHNO:

Your wonderful units for Austerlitz and Jena.

And what about a snow terrain mod for Berezina,...?

Another thing, those graphics of units that were in your site that apparently were not directly based in Knotel?

Right now I am stuck with HPS Napoleonics thanks to your mods :)

From what I understood, it seemed that you were a bit disappointed because you did not get all the credit you deserved. I did a bit of modding for AGEod and though they at AGEod are very kind, to mod can be very tiresome, though it is done for fun or to improve a game you really like. But in your case it can be perfectly your profession :)

I would like to see that HPS use your mods by default, well that you become part of the team.

By the way your mods site is offline? Apparently bandwidth exceeded, I visit it almost daily, I hope it is not for this reason :OHNO: :D

I was working on a Jena Unit Mod but I never did finish Sorry. Below is a sample of some of those units.

Yes my earlier units was based off Knotel but I have since found it easier just to use them as guides and just paint the whole unit from scratch this way I can control the color and give them a more consistence look. The second picture shows a painted from scratch unit before being down sized. I was planning on redoing all the units for each game this way but got burnt out and then side tracked by another project.

So I really do not have a completed Jena Mod to give. All that I could do is give you the new stuff that was completed mixed with some old stuff. The good News is I am about to take a break from my current Project and may complete Jena but it will take some time if I do.:lier:

I can make a 2D snow Mod, thought I did but looking at my files I see I never complete one so I will look into that also.

Web-Site is down for putting up file that too many people wanted and they went over broad and took me out.

Great news! :)

Jena units look wonderful :yummy:

And your new method result is really nice. I wonder how you do it ;) I guess this way you can diversify your references, use other besides Knotel I mean.

What is your other project, Histwar?

Ok here is one possibly for 2D Snow, while making this I remember 1 thing HPS did or I should say did not do and that is make all the terrain files work in the snow file :(. Only some work, so it will be hard to see roads and you will also see green hedges.
Base Snow tiles I made dirty white so as not to blind you and put a small white outline to help see edge. I will post when web-site comes back up which may be in a month.

Yes, other game is HistWar, I was hoping that game would be an advanced 3D version, of Sid Meier's Gettysburg engine. Anyway I wanted to Mod a 3D game just to check it out and I prefer to Mod something that actually needs help. I am MadRussian over there and have both a Unit and terrain Mod.

Many thanks ezjax :)

Nice detail in the trees, some with snow while others without leaves. Just in case you want to test more the 2nd battle of Krasnoi is also snowy ;)

Oh so you are MadRussian there? I saw some mods by him (you) in Histwar forum. I did not own the game but have visited the site several times

Ok - so Ezjax is mad Russian who is the unit mod guy. then , who is Volcano man - who is the terrain guy.?
I understand that a lot of modders not only on this game series but generally speaking can feel unnapreciated. I guess the same principle applies to the game designers. I will definitely be more guarded in future about any comments I make about game design because it takes a hell of a lot of patience and time to produce results. As a player , it is easy to whinge and moan. The game designers have done a hell of a job and the modders do a valuable bit too. There are lots of voiceless people out there who would agree.
I can only equate modding to the time and energy that a guy puts into romancing with a female and then seeing her go off with another guy or things just not panning out. You do not regret the involvement and passion, only the end result, which in the case of a modder is good as the end result is shared with others and does not have a bad ending.
I have to agree with Nikel about default - especially with terrain graphics - trees etc, Volcano man's terrain is the way forward.
Freelancing for HPS might be an idea, you will need at least $200 to buy Napoleon's Apogee. Now there is a hyped book. :crosseye:

AFAIK ezjax mods included 2D (terrain and symbols), units and 3D

Volcano man mods are about symbols and units.

The terrain you are using from your AAR screenshots are done by ezjax ;)
