Can a leader assist broken unit?

Looking for a little help. Can a good order leader assist (rout with) a broken squad to carry a 4PP HMG (add the leader PP capability) when routing?

The answer is in 4.0, "One Good Order SMC may add its IPC to that of one Good Order MMC in order to increase the IPC of the latter..." a broken unit is not Good Order.

A broken squad would have to abandon a 4PP weapon, regardless of the presence of a leader. Right off hand, I don't remember how many PP a broken squad could carry.

A broken unit cannot carry more than its IPC. 3 for a squad/ halfsquad 1 for an SMC.
