Baraque de Fraiture 3rd Ed components question

Once again, a trip to the Critical Hit website has left me with more questions than answers

I'm interested in playing Baraque de Fraiture. CH says that in order to do so I should purchase the countersheets from Hell's Bridgehead. I was under the impression that the counters in that module just replicated ones in the official countermix. I've got BV3 and Yanks - is that enough to play Baraque de Fraiture, or do I really need the additional SS countersheets? If the answer is yes, is Hell's Bridgehead good enough to warrant buying the whole module instead of just the countersheets?

Hi ya-

You dont need any counters from BdF to play it, as long as you have counters from yanks and BV your good to go. And yes, Hells Bridgehead is an awesome module.

generally they also include the counters in the game that you might need to play any of the scenarios. However they didn't in their last new release, Nordic Twilight, so hopefully that was an aberration rather than the new norm.


edit. I see the mention of getting HB3. I guess it is the new norm to not include all the needed coutners to play the scenarios. Looks like we'll get plenty of Americans but they'll ease off of the black SS overload we've gotten in the last year :laugh:

BV will do just fine for the SS counters you apparently won't get in this one.

Yeah, the website says BdF comes w/all the American counters needed to play, but that I'd need to pick up HB3 for the SS. Checked Desperation Morale which says the counters included in HB3 just replicate ones in the official countermix, hence my confusion about whether those counters are really 'required'.

that was confusing on their part. There was nothing new counter-wise in the HB3 SS countermix that wasn't in the BV SS mix. The only difference obviously are the colors. Some really like the look and artwork of the CH black SS counters, some don't care at all, and then again there are some that dislike the black colors. Choices choices choices. What a good time to be an ASL player :laugh:
