As I mentioned earlier, I computer-enhance nearly all the photos with Irfanview by enlarging them and juggling the contrast/brightness/gamma/sharpen sliders and options, and for colour pics i also juggle the colour sliders. For example this is how an original colour pic of a Pz III 50mm/L42 looked when i found it on the net, dull and lifeless-
And here's how it looks after i've enhanced it. it's still not perfect but there's only so much you can do depending on what the quality of the original was-
Sometimes original pics are so dull and grainy that no amount of enhancing will improve them much and i wouldn't normally post them unless the subject is interesting such as this one of German troops near Stalingrad; it's still grainy and blurry after enhancing but worth posting because the terrain and building styles are interesting-
And sometimes parts of a pic are blurry but other parts are not, such as this one of Stugs in Italy 1943. I've enhanced it but the guy in the foreground is still blurry because the photographer was focussing on the Stugs behind him which come out clear
