Scouts in the later sections?

Hello Reep and others.
Say, are scouts to be found in later ASL2 sections, or have they been made optional - hence transformed into a general set of principles to
guide the use of any unit assigned that roll?

[Scouts used to have a distinct infantry counter in the SL system; COD and were introduced with the phrases: "The best scout, is a dead scout .. "]

Scouts are no more.
Searching and mopping up rules, among others, replace them.
HS are often used for scouting too...

Oh, then again HS sounds ok too, afterall it's not like it can't be done with any unit or type in differing situations.
