I remember being 13 or so and asking for an M4 tank model for Christmas from the Tamiya "Military Miniatures" range. My parents, dutiful as ever, went to the hobby shop and saw the box top in the first picture of the photo essay - the M41 Walker bulldog. Well, what's an extra digit eh? So instead of getting a model of the Sherman, the workhorse tank of the Allied armies in World War II, I got a model of the workhorse tank of Hollywood movie producers of the 1960s. And now, apparently, sci-fi kit-bashers.
