I was doing a general search for relevant photos for the blog and ventured onto pinterest for the first time. Here I was surprised to find a lot of excellent re-coloured photos but after closer study noticed that a large proportion were staged re-enactor shots.
This made me slightly uncomfortable not because they weren't decent photographs just that most were masquerading as the real thing.
It would be better if staged shots were labelled as such though admittedly some are taken and submitted from professional photographers. I started to get an eye for any shot were the photo was unusually healthy looking or seemed to involve any soldiers in a steely military defensive stance or with copious quantities of liquid blood running down the face with no apparent wound to bleed from
