There is a very similar UK vehicle based on the Centurion.

Variant of the BMP-3 "Hermes?" (KBP Design Bureau)
not sure if this is completely accurate but it;s been the best I've seen so far...

This info on the turret from Richard Strickland on the AFV Forum;

The turret is the IST Dynamics Un-manned Multi-Weapon Platform with 30mm 2A72 cannon, 7.62mm PKT co-ax, 3 x Ingwe ATGM and Denel-Vektor 40mm AGL.

MOWAG Piranha 10x10, afaik only Sweden has the 10x10 version

although Finland ordered some instead of the Patria AMV to serve as the base for their 40mm turretted infantry support vehicle I think.

:p

I think I got one right earlier.....
I normally go with my guess and don't bother looking on the net. This morning I made an exception. Found on the Globalsecurity site.

My first inclination was to say a space marine ground surveillance system. Looks like something that would have fit in with the second Alien movie with the wheels and body style.

Patria-Hagglunds AMOS

James R. asked about this one the other day.:D One of those prototype vehicles that would be great fun to play around with. This type of system I think would be a better choice for the Stryker than the MGS....but that is another thread.

Well they will be well protected. I am curious of the reasons for the lack of these types of systems in actual use vs. prototype. There is a Russian system one in use. The advantages to me IMHO are great. You can combine weapon platforms. An under armor indirect fire weapon that is turrented and can function as a direct support weapon like the Stryker AGS is intended to do. With the smart mortar rounds available and in development it would do fine against armor as well, maybe better because it could kill the tank without the chance of the tank returning fire.

hmm, Type 63A PLAN Marines light Amphib Tank.

- can tell the difference between the PT-76B derived Type 63 because of the 105mm gun and square rather than rounded turret :)

You bet.

I liked the bit about the 105mm gun. I was not aware about the difference in the versions. Thanks Ivan. :thumup:

JED: The Military Equipment Directory

Stumbled across this today. Not sure if it is common knowledge.
