I need help with my avatar

Hey Don, my avatar has disappeared twice in the last month or so. Now I notice all the german soldier pics are gone.

I choose a german soldier avatar because that's the side I like to play in the campaign series. Were the german soldiers removed because someone complained? (y'know, the holocaust stuff and all?)

Just curious. :)

I'm not sure what you're talking about. The German soldier avatars are right where they have been for months--part of the contemporary soldier category. There are several pages of those soldier avatars so you may have to sort through them until you find the one you are looking for (only 50 are displayed on the page at at time).

Well, you're partially right. I added my pic back in, but that still doesn't change the fact that the pic disappeared twice from my profile in the last month or so. Also, there were a number of other pics that were on the list from way back, (that other forum members had been using) that seem to have been replaced with mostly new avatars. (the avatar i have now is from the "newer" list - the original pic no longer appears on the picture library, along with a number of other soldier pics) I hope I'm not going crazy.

It's no big deal though, I was just wondering why my profile keeps resetting to no pic.

Yes, several months ago (I don't remember when exactly) we did reorganize the avatars into new categories. We also added about 800 new ones.

There are currently 116 soldier avatars in the contemporary soldiers category, and it is possible a few of the older soldier pics were not included from the original list. There are about 1,000 avatars total to choose from now.

We upgraded the forum software about a week ago and I made an announcement here that a few people might need to re-select their avatar after the upgrade from v3.5.3 to v3.6.1. But we haven't added or subtracted any avatars in months.
