When do IR's actually work?

Typically on large maps where you can place well behind the front so as to allow your own ordnance to make use of range. It is rare in my experience, but I suspect that in CGs it is more common.

Any Starshell does or don'ts.

Obviously, you do not want to blind yourself. Typically, as the ATTACKER, you do not want a lot of SS used. Good idea is to keep you leaders from firing them until the attacker has commited to a plan--leaders do not have to fire at the beginning of the phase like everyone else.

Should the attacker be using IR or Starshells?

Yes, but not as prolifically as the Defender.

Any Armor tips

Park your tanks and abandon them--we need more infantry!
