Lead the SS-Das Reich to victory!
Join the Depot Team as they undertake a desperate mission on Christmas Day, 1944. This small battle is but a sample of the fighting to come.
We, the members of the SP:WAW DEPOT, have put together a present for the SPWAW community. After many discussions, we decided to create a campaign centered around the battle history of the 2nd SS-Panzer Division "Das Reich", covering the period of 1939 to 1945. Over 40 battles have been designed for this campaign by our talented team, each one a true test of the player's abilities. This project required an immense expenditure of time and effort, and we hope that you will enjoy playing it as much as we have enjoyed putting it together.
The Team:
Kuitni-2: Niko Kuittinen*
Commando Solo: Danny Secary*
BulletMagnet: Chris Sypniewski*
Kernel C: Steven Copley*
Ezriver: Bill Squires*
Wittmann's Revenge: Jeff Sedlak*
Duncan Idaho: Robert Brunsman*
(FGM)7thcav: Walt Moehle*
CPT Shoe: David Converse*
slehtine: Sasa Lehtinen*
Ace of Spades: Kyle Krammes*
Belisarius: Mattius Carlborg*
M4 Jess: Jess Housley*
Goblin: Eric DiNicola*
Artur: Artur Szekely-Takacs*
Fradar: Francois Dargaud*
Shadow151: Thomas Kane*
Orzel Bialy: Ken Baran*
FlashfyreSP: Kevin McFerren*
Commander Klank: Jerry Doyle*
Bladrian: Adrian Maritz*
Losqualo: Friedrich Klett*
and Bernie: BW Behling.*
Oberscharfuehrer Secary's section finished crossing the streambed. Sending SS-Schuetze Dargaud up to the top of the embankment to scout, he and SS-Schuetze Szekely helped SS-Oberschuetze Brunsman out of the stream. The sudden sounds of small arms fire from the embankment caught them by surprise; Brunsman was the first to react. Racking a shell into his MP38/40 SMG, he charged up the slope and let fly a burst of 9mm rounds. The rest of the section followed; within minutes, the enemy fire was silenced. Secary found Dargaud lying near a tree with multiple gunshot wounds. Still alive, he was carried back down the slope to be turned over to the medics. Once this was done, the section clambered back up the slope to continue their mission.**
Hauptscharfuehrer Behling pulled his snow smock closer around his face. Slowly, with great care, he eased his Karabiner 98b sniper's rifle into position. The Scharfuehrer was ensconced in a crevice between two rocks, partially hidden by a large clump of ivy. Placing his eye to the Zeiss scope, he found his target: a young American officer, standing in a foxhole. Placing the crosshairs on the man's chest, he took a deep breath, exhaled slowly, and squeezed the trigger. The rifle barked in his hands, and, 1000 meters away, the officer fell backwards clutching his chest.**
