several CWB questions:

1. If an extended line retreats, does the parent unit/other extensions rout at the same time?

2. A division under a divisional goal; the division general is wounded/killed, what happens?

3. Using defensive orders, would a natural "2" still cause a leader under No Order status to become a Loose Cannon or does the +1 DRM eliminate this possibility?

We just started the Second Manassas scenario and our Battle of Brawners Farm ended quite differently then did historically. Taliaferros' division blew back Hatchs' division with support from Ewell mainly due to, of all units onboard, the "Iron" brigade routing, the wounding of Hatch and the subsequent Emergency Retreat. Losses have been light, with more straggling on the Union side (all stragglers recovered later that night for both sides) due to events. We stopped at 8/29, 1 AM after the Union 1-3Va and the onboard cavalry of 2-3Va were forced to retire offboard due to the command confusion rule for this scenario.
Lots of fun!

I believe you got an answer on the mailing list, but I will post here so others can see.

At 11:48 AM 6/29/2005, you wrote:

You did it correctly. The extender has to follow the parent unit and
the
morale results are applied immediately.

In this case, you could do either of

1) follow the rules precisely, i.e., the replacement appears with a
divisional unit and is bolted in place there; or
2) place the replacement leader where Hatch was and continue with the
leader bolted down there.

An original 2 is still a loose cannon.

Okay, been awhile but I have another question:

A Corps has 3 divisions; one of which is on a divisional goal doing... whatever. During the CAS phase, does the Corps make the roll as a Corps of 2 divisions or as a 3 division Corps?

.....Any Corps Attack Stoppage by the parent corps has no effect on divisions acting on divisional goals...

and the division rolls for CAS as a Corps with one division, so I would rule as a Corps with two divisions.

Nothing official but my two cents,

Keith
