Ok, here goes....

I'm playing the scenario AP 30 Not apt to drag ones feet...

I have a CE Sherman in 54GG3 facing towards....

55FF6

What a plethora of targets lie in this hex....

There is a stack of 1/2 ? (with MMCs galore) in the woods.

In bypass is a non concealed Marder I. It is HD and I'm -1 acq on it (vehicle target type)

Net range to target is 7 hexes. There are two brush in LOS ie in 55FF8, FF7.

What is my net TH vs. said same target hex if I fire SMOKE ie WP or smoke?

I think it's....
base 7. -1 acq, firing SMOKE -2.
two LOS hindrances +2, small target +1. I do NOT pay for the bocage...right?

So final TH is a 7....right?

Hi
Answers based on what you provided, without pulling out boards to check any interaction of WA and Bocage LOS etc

My emphasis in bold

Basic TH# for ATT is 7
Smoke modifies the Basic TH# by +2, so the Modified TH# is 9

TH DRMs are -1 acq, +1 small target, +2 hindrances, so net TH DRM is +2

You need an original TH DR of 7 or less for a hit

It doesn't make a difference in this case, but you should get into the habit of not confusing modifications to the Basic TH# with TH DRMs (Case A to R and others). It affects Critical Hit possibilities on the Infantry Target Type.

See C4. to C4.5 (and particularly the first sentence of C4.) for modifications to the Basic TH#.
C5. & C6. are TH DRMs which are applied to an original TH DR.

Cheers
Jon
