Is it legal? Advance to RB factory rooftop.

Also per pp and MP remaining what "cancels" such an advance?

Example:

44 7 moves to factory roof ground hex (stairwell, or road entrance) not CX with MMG.

In the subsequent advance phase can the 447 advance to the roof? ( with MMG)

Same with 426 ?

The 447 moved and is now CX with MMG can it advance to the roof.

Same with 426. (with MMG)

I think in all cases the answer is no since it is not possible to move except by x>1 MF but
"may" be possible with LMG. Trying to figure out where the "cutoff" points are....

Thanks

:)

I'm far from a RB/RF expert but I'll try.

One restriction is that a CX unit can't advance vs. difficult terrain (A4.72).
447 moves to factory roof ground hex (stairwell, or road entrance) not CX with MMG.

As I understand B23.87, the MMG/447 can Advance to the rooftop since the ground and Rooftop levels are ADJACENT. It'll cost 3 MF, and the MMG/447 has only 2 (portaging 5PP) so the 447 becomes CX.

Same with 426 ?
A 426 with or without a MMG becomes CX because the cost is ≥ its MF (A4.72).

The 447 moved and is now CX with MMG can it advance to the roof.
Same with 426. (with MMG)
Neither can Advance since the 3 MF cost when compared to their available non-DT MF (1 for 447, 0 for 426) makes it an advance vs difficult terrain (A4.72). Since the 447 or 426 are already CX, they cannot advance. In fact, the MMG/cx426 can't advance at all since it has 0 MF available (it starts with 3, and has an IPC of 2 because it's CX, it's carrying 5PP, which reduces its 3 MF by 3 to 0).

Trying to figure out where the "cutoff" points are....
A4.72 sets the limits for advancing (there may be more for special circumstances, but start with this).
  • If a unit has no MF after deducing for portage costs, it cannot advance.
  • Define "Advance vs. Difficult Terrain" as an advance to a Location where the MF cost (excluding SMOKE) is ≥ 4 MF and/or ≥ the unit's available non-DT MF.
  • Otherwise a non-CX unit may advance to a Location (and may become CX if advancing vs difficult terrain).
  • A CX unit cannot advance vs difficult terrain.
  • Otherwise, a unit can advance to that Location.
The "cutoff point" you are looking for is "4 or all the unit's MF, whichever is less".
