Intensive Fire in Final Fire phase

Sorry - having a senior moment.... Vehicle does not fire in opposing movement phase. In Final Fire phase, misses, loses ROF, - can it Intensive Fire at non-adjacent target? I think yes - this restriction only applies if it had first fired in opposing Mph and lost ROF....

    Hatten Railroad Question

    Thanks Ben!

    Hatten Railroad Question

Sorry to ask a very basic question. The railroad is an embankment railroad so basically a hillock. Same level LOS is blocked if you're not immediately behind the railroad. My question is does this apply (same level LOS blocked) to just the terrain depiction or to the entire hex.... Enjoying...

Red Barricades. CG10 Retained RG. OBA question

I think a better campaign rule would be to retain all OBA modules with whatever chits were left but have to pay to refresh black chits. Possibly each artillery battery has to miss the next CG date to account for crew fatigue/ maintenance and available the one after. It would make the bang for...

Jap DC Detonation in own location

Not sure if Bitterest Day is PTO for rules purposes or not? I'm presuming not - but it's fairly open terrain regardless so even if PTO is in effect that situation wouldn't happen much.

Jap DC Detonation in own location

The Marine squad doesn't enter the Japanese squad hex unless PTO terrain is in effect and it's kunai, jungle or bamboo. So you have to throw it adjacent.

    sD Used Marker/Counter for T34/85

I'm not. 'May possibly' means what it says. The scenario should say if it does. Otherwise it doesn't.

    sD Used Marker/Counter for T34/85

sD on T-34's is only by SSR though isn't it?

    Your favorite light mortar

No contest - Japanese 50mm mortar. WP & Smoke. Minimum Range 1 - not to be underestimated how useful this is. Max range 16 - better than most. 4pp not 5pp like some. Russian & German 50mm are dealing with +3 TEM of Stalingrad. This baby is airbursting your party. And you can fire it from a cave.

    Prepared Fire Zone/Leader bonus/airburst

It was an OBA effect- unfortunately there was an enemy unit adjacent and no Trench hex to rout to, or lower level.

    Prepared Fire Zone/Leader bonus/airburst

It was in the process of routing - but any rules or Q&A references?

    Prepared Fire Zone/Leader bonus/airburst

Q1: There are two woods hexes in front of a squad. One has been changed to open ground by use of a PFZ counter. Can a squad fire along the hexspine between those two hexes (on the basis you can't see an obstacle on both sides of a thread) or is LOS blocked? Q2. If a leader is in a Trench and a...

    The board you hate most

Board 1, 12 and 25 . Far too many scenarios on them. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a scenario involving board1. Guards Counterattack, Commando Schenke, Shlov's Labours lost....yuck. Sorry modern boards are better. There are too many scenarios using boards 42,43 but I still like them - just...

Best way to get into VotG?

Jump in with 'First Bid' - cracking scenario. That is epic enough that you won't need to go for a CG. I agree the scenario quality is pretty good.

    Your ranking of the HASLs

CGs only - I've played very few HASL scenarios but shout out to 'First Bid' from VOTG and 'Got Milk' from RR. In order, Rileys Road - both sides get to attack & defend and the open terrain is very different from typical CGs. For various reasons there isn't kill stack dominance and there is an...
