Your American 2-8 LMGs Where Are They?

The American 2-8 LMG came in Forgotten War.
It represents the U.S. cal. .30 M1919A6 machine gun.
Did you know that over 40,000 of them were produced by the end of the war in the Pacific?
Did you know it was not uncommon in US Army service from late 1944 onward?
If you do not keep this in your WWII American counter storage you should.

My understanding is that the weapons platoon would have the A6 in place of the M1919A4 so there were no additional weapons. And since the A6 could be employed on the same M2 tripod as the M4 you could have, as an option, the A6 MMG with higher firepower but B11. This could be dismantled to the 2-8 LMG with a PP of 2.

I’m not suggesting there would be more machine guns. What I am saying is that the ASL set of core modules now has the M1919A6 in the system because it came out in Forgotten War. I’m saying that this American 2-8 LMG counter (with a B# of 12) already exists in ASL and that it should be kept in your counter storage along with your WWII Americans.
Schwerpunkt has published a few WWII scenarios including this LMG in them. I also wrote an article about the M1919A6 in 2025’s Schwerpunkt Volume #25.

I’m saying that this American 2-8 LMG counter (with a B# of 12) already exists in ASL and that it should be kept in your counter storage along with your WWII Americans.
Schwerpunkt has published a few WWII scenarios including this LMG in them. I also wrote an article about the M1919A6 in 2025’s Schwerpunkt Volume #25.

I wasn't suggesting there should be less MGs at all. Instead I was offering a better way to impliment the A6 MGs. The A6 could be depicted as the an MMG (affixed to the M2 tripod) or as a dismantled MMG with the capability of an LMG, in the same way as a MG34/42 is depicted in the game.

Quite simply, giving choices to the players matter. The player should be allowed (whenever it is possible) a choice of how they attack or defend with their available weapons.

Mine live in my, “US 2”, box. US 1 is Yanks alone, and 2 is mostly TPP counters, AE, 6-6-8 Special Service Force guys, and RCLs. But, they are right next to the Johnsons.

The Marines are their own 2 trays, with their Johnsons. But no M1919A6s….

We originally planned to do three Korean War volumes of Rally Point. We still have the scenarios for that volume but the lack of player interest in Korea made us decide not to publish it. Most of all, we ourselves were sick of Korea scenarios after playtesting them for three years.
I figure that the Tampa ASL group did its due diligence in producing 20 KWASL scenarios.
With the exception of an occasional scenario possibly in Schwerpunkt, we have no plans to ever do another Korean War product
