Björn Lorenzen and I finnished "AP216 Second Wind" today - Björn won in the last DR of the game, I needed 9 or less to kill his 237 to retake Buildinng 71 G4, and I rolled a 12 :)
But what a spectacular scenario it was, with a lot of cracy things happening. Low and high DR's on both sides, the scenario going back and forth - ASL when it is the most fun.
Well played Björn !

Well Francois really kicked my butt in AP230 Suxy Beasts.

I feel the Germans need just a little bit of luck in this one and certainly do not need to lose their 9-2 and a squad turn 1 French to a 2 on a 6 flat shot...
The sheer number of boresighted locations available to the French makes coming forward quite the task but 8 morale and great leadership helps a lot.
I was too cautious coming forward and should have risked more than I did turn 1 but it seemed every time I took a calculated risk it backfired (I know he's got 2 MGs that can fire on my 9-2, 2 squads both with LMG but I should pass the MC...12 on the HMG, great! 2 on the MMG with a 6 and 6 for the 9-2 and 1 squad was not great...) lost another 468 from another 2...leader goes heroic then risks the entry of a 1residual breaks and dies...one of those games!)

Good fun and a great opponent. This is an interesting scenario that requires the attacker to take risks. Once he is over the stream, the defender is in trouble but as the attacker you are going to take casualties.

Andy and I played BtB12 Against the Grain. The Germans start with what looks like an overwhelming force, 15 SS 658s, 5 Panthers and a number of other toys. The Brits get a bunch of AT guns, some overmatched armor and a first line infantry company, plus 80mm artillery. Interestingly, the 80mm is not specified as Bn mortar. The Brits diced the Germans, killing 2 panthers with Shock results that they could not recover from, a light mortar scored a critical hit to immobilize a 3rd, and a HIP PIAT got a rear shot to kill another panther. The British sniper also recalled one open top AFV and stunned another. Andy was game but there's not much you can do against that kind of luck.

Not familiar with this specific situation, but the British do have a lot of 25pounders (88mm) that provided OBA support. Perhaps it was those instead of the much maligned 76mm/81mm mortars.

It might be 1 or 2 weeks until I have time and leisure to sit down and prepare round 4. Be patient, please!
Edit: That also goes for the unread emails in my account. Sorry for that.
