Will try again and let you know.
Nor me. I just downloaded a board file last night with no issues?

Are you sure that your browser has not put up a dialog box that is waiting for input from you while hidden under a bunch of other widows? That has happened to me in the past with other downloads.

Let me blast right through with no issue today. However, no difference in the approach I took. I think something was chuck-a-muck at the time, but it seems to have resolved itself. At any rate Tom, thanks as always for the maps/overlays.!

Working my way through the backlog of things in the ToDo list. Some items were deleted as General VASL Ideas/Problems; those are not what the ToDo list is for. Some counter-specific items were passed on to Counterman.

Bruce Probst and Fred Ingram noted a problem with bd08, where one could not implement both the Remove Island BSO and the NoHills rule for the scenario OA31 "With Friends Like These" - the result was a funky kind of residual island lying in the river. Got it fixed - was a problem with the order in which these rules were listed in the overlaySSR file. The new version of bd08 (not yet SK-style, but at least works for OA31) is available here:

http://home.comcast.net/~tomrepetti/boards/bd08.zip

Edit - Dangit. I posted v5.3 of this board, then I noticed Robert Shuster's problem report on bd 8 - that it was missing the L1/L2 hedge. Argh. OK, now we have v5.31 of that board. The link above is still correct.

Anybody ELSE have a problem with board 8??? :)

It unzips as bd08, versus the pre-today version being bd8 (note: all other single digit boards are bd#, not bd0#). Is this intentional?

EDIT: Never mind. I loaded it into my BoardsVASL4 folder. The new v5/SK is in bd0# format.

Need some help - Finally breaking out Red Barricades and the board is "RB". Looked in the Map Bazaar for the VASL board and couldn't find it. Any ideas where I can find the board at or if I am just looking in the wrong place?

Thanks,

Working our way through the boards with sunk/elevated roads that need to be fixed, board 55 (v5.2) is available here:
http://home.comcast.net/~tomrepetti/boards/bd55.zip

The change is required because, in the PTO, the sunken/elevated portion of the sunk/elev road is not supposed to actually go away - only the road itself should. Thus, we had to change the NoRoads overlay to reflect this, and modify the NoSunkElevRoad rule so that it now puts down an overlay that removes the sunk/elev artwork and changes the level of the road itself to fall in line with the roads on either end. Previous versions of NoSunkElevRoad would take out the road entirely, which is really not the right way to think about it.

At any rate. Just a few more already-done boards to tweak with this change (e,f,g, 2ab, 3ab, bfpd, bfpe, bfpk, fe3, and fe5), and then we can make sure it's applied to boards that have not been VASLized in SK-style yet.

THEN we do the Marsh tweak.

To understand the need for these two tweaks, see this post.

Hi,

The Bazaar is great. Please be noted that the link "bds 60-63" is pointed to "http://home.comcast.net/%7Etomrepetti/boards/bds60-63.zi". Apparently, a 'p' is somehow missed. I can download them by manually adding the 'p' at the end.

Argh! Man, I'm having trouble with technology today!

Fixed the above problem. Thanks for the heads up.

Finally got a bunch of HASL maps resurrected from the old vasl.org site and put on the Map Bazaar:

HoB
* bdFC v1.0 Fortress Cassino Hand drawn by Carl Pfeiffer and Thomas Nordstrom
* bdBRV v1.0 Berlin: Red Vengeance (sorry, I don't know who drew this. Can anyone help?)
* bdOTO and bdoto2 both v1.o Heat of Battle's Onslaught to Orsha, hand drawn with RB size or standard size hexes

MMP
* bdST v2.02 Stoumont Hand drawn by Carl Pfeiffer
* bdPB v0.1 Pegasus Bridge Hand drawn by Gordon Molek and Carl Pfeiffer
* bdNG v1.0 Nhpum Ga Hand drawn by Carl Pfeiffer
* bdRB v1.3 Red Barricades Hand drawn by Gordon Molek
* bdKR v1.0 Kakazu Ridge Hand drawn by Gordon Molek
* bdGT v1.0 Gavutu-Tanambogo Hand drawn by Chris Smith and Carl Pfeiffer
* bdBRT 1.0 Blood Reef: Tarawa Hand drawn by Gordon Molek
* bdCH v0.93 Cheneaux Hand-drawn by Carl Pfeiffer
* bdABTF v1.0 A Bridge Too Far Hand drawn by Gordon Molek
* bdRileys v1.5 Operation Veritable Hand-drawn by Chris Milne
* bdLG v1.0 La Gleize Hand drawn by Flerg

CH
* bdTRBH v1.0 Those Ragged Bloody Heroes Hand drawn by Tim Fachko!
* bdRR v1.0 Ruweisat Ridge Hand drawn by Tim Fachko
* bdKB v0.9 Kellum's Bridge Hand drawn by Mike Standbridge
* bdTO v1.2 Timmes Orchard Hand drawn by Mike Standbridge
* bdSH v0.9 Shanley's Hill Hand drawn by Mike Standbridge
* bdPdH v1.0 Pointe Du Hoc Hand drawn by Mike Standbridge
* bdER v1.1 Edson's Ridge Hand-drawn by Tim Fachko and Carl Pfeiffer

I couldn't find all the HASL maps that I wanted to find (KotH, BdF), and some of what I did find wasn't super-great or needed some updating, so I didn't put it on the Bazaar. I'll keep some of those on the back burner in case they can be tweaked to look nicer.

Thinking heavily about redoing the RB map to match the standard of the VotG map.

At any rate, enjoy, and sorry for the delay.

Thanks Tom!

You should be able to get BdF from here. If you can't get it I have a copy and can send it to you.

Edson's Ridge should be listed under the MMP section.

My copy of KotH is very crude.

Let me know what else you may be looking for, I'll see if I have them.

Wow. Looking at some of these HASL maps for the first time in a long time, and I discovered a feature on the RB map which I had no idea was there: you can select factories to transform to "gutted". Neat! Unfortunately it leads to a problem: the transformation removes the stairwells (if present) (because there's no roof any more, of course) -- unfortunately with no stairwell symbols it's impossible to tell how high the walls are. Something to keep in mind, Tom, if you update that RB map. (Does the VotG have the same feature/problem?)

As a stop-gap workaround, you could drag a stairwell overlay into the appropriate hex as a reminder or use a transparent label counter. A little extra work but whoever said ASL wasn't...
