Here comes the simple AAR

This year 12 players attended our tournament, including one female player (my wife and she defeated me in the first round!)

After 4 rounds of games. James P. Lewis won the champion title. Chenxi Li was the second place. Gregory Feng is the third place and also the Champion of CC! (The guy who won the highest CC-VP) .

We will have our next tournament in Guiyang next year! Welcome to join us!!

Is "Dare Death" the only ASL tournament in China? Do you have any knowledge of how large the ASL player-base might be in China? And is that player-base connected or does is rather consist of dispersed "islands"?

"DD" might be the only tournament. We have over 50 active players as I know (I believe there are many other players I didn't know). It's difficult to tell you the specific number, maybe twice as I know? China is too large. And the number is increasing, every year we have new players. That's a good news.

The biggest barrier for them to attend our game is the time. Most of us are 30's or 40's, at our busiest time in our life maybe (I only played 8 games this year till now!).

Hope more players from all over the world could join us!

Of course, it is hard to find time to play in one's 30's and 40's. On the positive side, this means that the Chinese player base is young.

I would estimate that most ASLers from the US and Europe tend to be in their 50's or 60's. Though I am not attending but one tournament regularly per year, my impression is that in our parts the player base has a hard time to expand or even to maintain its numbers. In any case if one sees pictures of tournaments in Europe and the US, most people have grey hair...

So, keep it coming and roll low!
