U-559, the German submarine captured by our British Brethren aboard the HMS Petard in October 1942.
Which gave the Allies access to the four rotor Enigma Machine and Codebooks.
(Not the U-571 Hollywood's notorious rip-off version.)

X-Boats, mini subs that attempted to attack the Tirpitz with little or o siccess, but were used on D-Day in effect as marker buoys for the Naval approach routes into the beach at Juno, Sword and Gold. Not sure if they were used at Omaha or Utah but I doubt it considering how badly off target the landing craft ended up at those beaches.
