The LotRO Development Team wants to know what you think about these questions.
(with how I answered them) :bite:

Question 1
You are given the opportunity to make two changes to the Legendary Item System. What are the two most important changes you would make?
1. Make them really Legendary & not "trash" items, they shouldn't drop like leaves in the wind.
2. Have ONE good one from the start that grows with your character (this is a Legendary item right?) instead of being disposable items.

Question 2
Name two things about the Legendary Item System you enjoy the most.
1. The variety of types you can have.
2. The variety of different skills you can have on YOUR weapon (customize)

Question 3
Name three things you enjoy most about LOTRO.
1. Being able to travel in the world of Middle Earth & not just "specific" locations.
2. The community.
3. The game is staying true to Tolkiens vision - (lots of Orcs & no flying mounts)

Name three things you enjoy the least or do not participate in.
1. Gated anything.
2. PvPM - if I wanted PvP I'd play WoW
3. Quests that have you go back to the same place over & over. {kill X creatures / pick up boxes / kill boss} I killed everything there the first trip: I should be able to pick up the "boxes" & get credit for killing the boss for the first trip I made.

Hop on over & sound off on these questions:

I just ran into this tonight, but I noticed this right from my first days with the game. Couldn't figure out the rationale of killing a "named" character only to find out that because I didn't pick up the quest first, it didn't "really happen".

Just tonight I was finally cleaning up quests in Forochel - incidentally because I had levelled to 53 and with the help of Legendary weapons could solo some of the tougher quests - and was cleaning up Garadan Seers. I noticed in my sweep that there was a named "boss" and I just knew that there was no point killing him because I would no doubt have to come back and do it anyway. Yup, as soon as I dropped Seer #6 to fulfill the quest and went to turn in, the next quest was enabled, and my marching orders were to go back to the same spot and kill the boss. Would have preferred to just kill him while I was there and have the quest enabled at the time.

I hope you posted your opinions on that sound-off thread, the more players that point this out the better chance they will listen.

The first day the thread was opened 20 pages of replies had been posted, and in the time it took for me to post mine I think 8 other players had posted ahead of me.

I don't have a character that uses LIs yet, still happily crafting in my IIRC 30+ characters. Errr. Anyway.

But yes it seems that the LI system was designed and shot way off the target. People seem to be very unhappy about.

I also expect not to like that it will invalidate my future crafting.

Hopefully the result of the LI discussion will be something that gets some meaning back to crafting, some kind of hybrid system, or re-strengthen crafting. The latest crafting changes also made crafting too easy, IMHO.

I'm actually kind of 50/50 on what I just posted. At the same time as it would be nice to "pick up" quests on the fly, there is still the annoyance of the game being dumbed down. However, I suppose one could kill the named bosses and still have some work to do in finding out where the quest began from! Or in doing the prerequisite quests, especially if they weren't already queued up. I guess I'm not torqued one way or the other - I can sort of see the logic either way. It was annoying, however, given the distance from the Gauradan strongholds north of Gwingris in Forochel all the way back to the main camp way in north Forochel, and then back again, even with swift travel enabled.
