Spot On, you may 'root' for the Russians to defeat the Nazis for the Allies' cause but they are really no better, as they continue to prove in 2025. There has never been a good time to be a Russian citizen, the worst country on earth and it is not even close for me.Interesting thoughts cross my mind. I'm happy to have the game module in my grasping hands, and don't mind informally marking it's "anniversary". I like it.
But as far as the actual battle between Nazi Germany and the USSR goes, I'm happy to say it's a date on the calendar and a mark on the map that inflicted significant harm on both, and may they enjoy each others company in hell. That's my toast.
In “Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin”, Timothy Snyder makes the case that Eastern Europe was a bad place to be from 1920 through the end of WWII. They got horrible treatment from both sides.Spot On, you may 'root' for the Russians to defeat the Nazis for the Allies' cause but they are really no better, as they continue to prove in 2025. I have read that book and can recommend it. Furthermore I can recommend its author, who has written other commendable books as well.In “Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin”, Timothy Snyder makes the case that Eastern Europe was a bad place to be from 1920 through the end of WWII. This is pretty much ahistorical. Were there no Soviet Union, or if Stalin decided not to fight, most people in Europe (except for a few Italians), including the British (a Germanic language in any case) and a good number in the Middle East and South America would be speaking German right now (not that the language is a bad thing, but I think you get my point). Think of what might have been in Dec. 1941 (compared to the situation at the end of WWI) with all of France, plus Finland and Norway, and most of the Russian Empire defeated and occupied. Probably Egypt also. Britain encircled (starving) by German airplanes, U Boats, and Surface Ships.Spot On, you may 'root' for the Russians to defeat the Nazis for the Allies' cause but they are really no better, as they continue to prove in 2025. A very easy case to make. It started far earlier, around the middle of the nineteenth century. This wide region consisted of longstanding national and ethnic independence movements (militarily often consisting of little more than bandit groups) awaiting the demise of the ailing (i.e., doomed) German, Russian, Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires (all of which was accelerated by the World War). Except that, save for social disputes, the German Empire was not ailing or doomed until that war started.In “Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin”, Timothy Snyder makes the case that Eastern Europe was a bad place to be from 1920 through the end of WWII. A difficult read, for sure — in the sense that human beings’ capacity to do unspeakable things to other humans is amazing and depressing.I have read that book and can recommend it. Furthermore I can recommend its author, who has written other commendable books as well.
One of the areas most afflicted was the Ukraine. In the civil wars after WW2, due to the Holodomor. And, in fact, Ukraine is once more going through hard times having been invaded by Russia.

Not available, unless mentioned as an SSR, only available for scenario SaP4 FOR THE MOTHERLANDScenario question. Will be setting up SaP12. Is the Train OBA (Sap 10 ssr) available to the Russian player? Or is the Train OBA only available if written as a SSR on the scenario sheet. Is there one or two snipers per side( big playing area)

Yes they can....A VC question;
In Pomeranian Fury, can the Germans get points for no good order Russian units in the victory buildings AND control of the SAME building? Thus reducing the number of buildings the Germans have to take?
yes. All VP are cumulativeA VC question;

Which means I lost. But, now I know!yes. All VP are cumulative
Was it fun?Which means I lost. But, now I know!
Yes. Both sides had runs of success, and my SU-122s had the best performance I’ve ever seen. But, I lost the 2 VP building in the last turn. The Germans had already taken the north most? of the row of VP buildings, but were stopped cold for several turns after that. Good scenario!Was it fun?
The most important question!Was it fun?
