Should MMP put the next Squad Leader converted Scenario pack on pre-order?

We all know that we (at least 897 of us) are going to pre-order the second half of the Squad Leader turning the tide scenario pack. Who thinks MMP should just go ahead and put it up on pre-order now?

They will do it soon. They just know that we are only longing for it, and they want to make us simply starving for 2nd TTT.

More seriously - I want good remake of these scenarios, not just fast remake. And I know that good and fast almost never come in pair. No need to rush, I can wait.

From what I recall from posts of Bill Stoppel (one of the main factors, along with Jim Stahler and Dan Best), the 2nd group has not finished playtesting yet.

I have a count of 15 SL ones that have not been converted. Would MMP put the three remaining BB scenarios in the pack as well?

My understanding of the pre-order system is that new items only go up for pre-order when they are ready to be printed and shipped. If this is the case, then I would say MMP should not put a new scenario pack up right now (unless of course it is ready to go to the printers).

It would be great to hear from someone from MMP on this (assuming they wish to share this sort of internal company info).

My understanding is that MMP have a very tight financial timeline with the printers - so once the final product is delivered they have a short window - perhaps as little as 14 days - to settle the payment. So even though heavy demand is a certainty for ASL products, MMP needs to get enough revenue pronto in order to cover the print costs. This is where the pre-orders come in as MMP can start billing as soon as they start shipping.

All guesswork, of course, but there have been snippets of info from MMP folks that seems to support the above. YMMV. :)

Right..... I think the "Pre-Order and wait" mechanism was the cause of much "grief" like the map bundle thing. I think Chas made it clear, or was it Brian, that pre-order and shipping will always be in close proximity to each other. Don't want too much MMP production since Bounding Fire has some super nice stuff coming also:D.

Best regards,:salute:

There is such a thing as "saturation"; some people can only pay so much for hobby stuff. Waiting, oh I don't know, two months between scenario releases would not be such a wild idea in my opinion....

Reid hit the nail on the head. Jim is still converting and play-testing the second batch. So why would MMP violate they're own process and put it on pre-order after all the criticism they have received over past practices? :hmmm:

Reid what does BB stand for?

Backblast

I'm at work right now. I will post the names later.

Edit: BB01 Taming Tulagi; BB09 A Wedge in the Ice; and BB15 Up Number One Road.
These could be added here or in OotA #2.

Good news! Wonder will they give some non-SK ASL goodies, like in Special Issue.

It would be nice to do some SK pack combining all the Operations scenarios.
