March Madness Tournament, March 13-15, 2026
What: The March Madness 2026 tournament features a five round main tournament with multiple mini tournaments on Saturday.
When: March 13-15, 2026. Doors open on Friday at 9 AM, doors close Sunday at 6 PM
Where: Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 17346 Midland Dr, Shawnee, KS 66217 (913-400-2509). Rooms have been set aside and are good until March 1, 2026. Ask for: Kansas City ASL March Madness. There are other hotels nearby.
Cost/Registration: $35 for Pre-Registration Registration is $40 at the door for a full weekend of ASL, $20 at the door for Saturday only. You can register by mail by mailing your check payable to Dave Mareske at PO Box 232, Bonner Springs, KS 66012. Or for more convenience use PayPal.
If ordering a T-shirt, cost is $30 extra.

Prizes: The Tournament will have 1ST, 2ND and 3RD prizes of choice ASL merch. Each mini-tournament will have its own prize for the winner. Some mini-tournaments will be two rounds, most will be one round. Free play is always an option. A raffle for all attendees will be held on Saturday afternoon at 4 PM (must be present to win).

Reminder to all who are attending: We will be having a point system for the main tournament so all five rounds must be played to win. This makes the competition for second to fourth place much more competitive. For those who lose two rounds, on Saturday will have the following mini-Tournaments:

1. A two round HazMo mini (sponsored by HazMo). Up to four players may sign up. Champion gets a HazMo 6.

2. Our famous All Day Mini where you can select to play one of the following "all day" scenarios:
Scenario E - Hill 621
Scenario 10 - The Citadel
Scenario 71 - Jungle Citadel
These are long scenarios that likely take all day. Prize for the winner and prize for players with the most style (aka. takes the most losses). Great for those who have never played these monster scenarios.

3. 3-Player Mini: Select from a list of 5 three players scenarios and play with two other opponents. This mini can be played for both rounds on Saturday.

4. The prize for the round mini: Play a scenario from round 3 and/or 4 and win a prize for the round.

These mini-tournaments are open to players attending Saturday only and anyone who has lost one or more of the previous rounds to keep the competitive level of the games. Open play is also allowed of any mutually agreed scenario. So folks can also bring something they have always wanted to play and give it a go in later rounds.

The classic scenario goes all the way back to squad leader. And is balanced at 45-45.

Not updated..."previously issued as". No change in the scenario. Will use the old version from the General magazine for its classic feel. Also, a bigger scenario for those who arrive early and want to play an old school scenario.

Sad I cannot be there this year. Slipped on ice on unsalted porch steps in December, resulting in a torn rotator cuff. Have to stay home for 8 weeks of therapy & possibly surgery. It's not good to fall when you are 71. Hope to be back next year.

At the risk of attracting the notice of the topic police, my outlook is good. I am in great shape, the disease has not reached my heart, I just need to get through the next 12 weeks of suck and everything will be better.
