So, there's a very nice feature coming shortly, along with the map update. Map tags. This way scenario designers (or players wanting to play on a style of map) can find maps that suit the requirement.

I'm thinking: city, open, wooded, village, stream, church, gullies etc as a simple list of tags that can be applied to maps, to allow for easier searching. Can we come up with a nice list before the map assignments begin?

I'd suggest starting with the SASL map classification and then adding additional attributes to that. SASL classifies "City", "Village", "Farmland", "Rural", "Hills", and "River. In addition, the "Woods" attribute can be added to one of the above categories if there are "enough" woods hexes. and "Built-up" can be applied if the map has enough rubble/building hexes.

Nice. Because there can be multiple tags we aren't restricted to one-per-map, but these are great starters, thanks.

Here's where I am for now:

The small numbers on the right of the map selectors are the scenario counts for that map, the bolder map names are those with tags associated with them. Admins can add tags and remove tags to maps. Before I unleash this, it would be great to get any more tags that people think are useful, to avoid people having to go back in and add them.

Where would a village or two on a map fall? Rural?

Just want to make sure I am tracking!

I really don’t know - it’s so subjective but I’d think if there were more than 4 or 5 buildings in a bit of a cluster?!

Rural is the one below villlage but if there’s a large section of the map that’s empty/fields then rural fits too! You can’t go wrong really, it’s just to get a feel and if maps are wrongly tagged we can always fix them.
It’ll arrive later today. Keep your eyes out for the new menu option!

It's now live - you can update your maps, via this page, and automatically add maps that are from publications in your collection.

You can also now search on the advanced search for scenarios that contain scenarios only with maps that you own. All a bit new, so there may be some kinks to iron out, but I think it's good to go!

If you're asking about the differences on a search vs the values on the board identifiers I think it's because there are some scenarios without a publication (sometimes they get orphaned when a publication is removed without the scenarios being deleted).

Is there anything we can do to help fix this after the fact?

Thanks - I've fixed it. It came from entries in the maps table that didn't belong to scenarios any longer. They've been removed now. It should be all ok now.
