The tactic of mopping up never proved more appropriate. I found it especially effective when dealing with lone HIP half-squads lurking in cellars.In one of the playtests I scored a win by having a HIP 1/2 squad in a cellar hex , my opponent thought he had got the win till I revealed!
I know the tactic of half-squads lurking in cellars to win the game feels cheesy, but I’ve found Mopping Up to be an overlooked rule that many players underutilize.
Another reason not to invoke NQ.
I am surprised at the number of players that invoke NQ. In scenarios where building control or CVP are important it is not a smart move. I have won several scenarios by mopping up and only had a prisoner escape and rearm once. Same with inflicting CVP by capturing by the rout phase method.
In one of our playings the Hip halfsquad hid in a non VB building and CX'd to capture one of several VB buildings in reach. The attackers were too thinned out to garrison every VB.In one of the playtests I scored a win by having a HIP 1/2 squad in a cellar hex , my opponent thought he had got the win till I revealed!
Only German MMG, but when the HMG is removed from MG PB it is replaced by a MMG.
