Der Verständlichkeit halber schreibe ich in deutsch.
Ich habe erstmals teilgenommen und habe das Turnier sehr genossen. Für mich stand nicht so sehr das Spielen im Vordergrund als das Miteinander der Teilnehmer.
Gerade auch für Spieler, die Grundkenntnisse in diesem komplexen Spiel haben, ist das Turnier zu empfehlen.
Unterkunft und Verpflegung waren gut, der Turniersponsor Gamers HQ war sehr großzügig, das Wetter war gut und die Anreise durch das Fuldatal hat Reminiszenzen an den "Kalten Krieg" geweckt.

Ich fand es positiv, dass man sich nicht vorbereiten konnte, kein ABS oder anderes Balancing benutzt wurde und Szenario und zu dpielende Seite vorgegeben wurde. So konnte man sich nur auf das Spielen des Szenarios vorbereiten.

A picture taken from Lvl 1 of the venue building across the Open Ground of our backyard to the Shallow Stream that marks the boundary of the venue. You can see a lone SMC checking the rulebook minutes before the round 2 games begin.

I shall in the coming days attempt to provide more of a detailed recap. The short version:

Of 16 players, 2 got sick, so we played with 7 tables.
The scenarios randomly selected from the pools were:

  1. Dying for Danzig
  2. Catcher Caught
  3. Relentless Pressure
  4. Totensonntag
Through WuWei being struck by tactical genius, he vanquished our 2-time-champion Sebastian in Round 2, who was undefeated until that moment in the tournament series!
That made the way clear to others vying for the title. The final standings were:

  1. tunixx
  2. Genosse Gelb
  3. WuWei
  4. John
  5. CHERDE
  6. Kris
  7. Christoph
  8. Sebastian
  9. Gerrit
  10. Alex
  11. Matt
  12. Volker
  13. U.
  14. Victor
Last year, the Top 3 from 2024 only made 4th, 8th and 10th place, so tables were indeed turned! We could great a slew of new players who "only" started druing COVID. Very nice to meet them! And there are more players being trained, I am told. So we are aiming at 20 participants for 2025. The new venue can easily accomodate them all. Great fun was had, food & convivality shared in the spirit of our common hobby.

Prizes worth about 1000€ in total were given out, all sponsored by our friendly LGS Gamer's HQ.
