Campaign Atlanta 1864......

Campaign Atlanta - Campaign Game - First Battle....( Rocky face ridge - 40 turns ). Sherman's Union army marches on Dalton, giving Joseph Jonston's Army of the Tennesse an opportunity of repulsing them.

Confederate ( Human ) vs Union ( A.I. conservative ).

Vanilla play..........so no knowledge of enemy dispositions/strengths...............No rebel cavalry to scout either. .

Surprisingly interesting engagement.....can turn nasty for the confederates with sloppy positioning and failure to keep reserves.

Union have lost a Brig.General and a Capt. of artillery.

As you can see, the Campaign Atlanta map is pretty long/big. If you want to play the entire Campaign.....you can do so ; with the proviso that you have to play it in sections from the initial engagement of Rocky face ridge to the eventual Siege of Atlanta.

How come there is no overarching scenario that allows you to use the entire Campaign map with 300+ turns. It seems a shame to go to all the trouble and effort of making a very long Campaign map which can only be played in sections albeit the Kennesaw Junction and Atlanta scenario/maps are pretty big at 107 and 102 turns respectively.

Is this a cynical attempt to make Bonnie Bedelia cry ?.........

A Union Major Defeat achieved by GT.23. The last 3 turns have been devastating for the blue bellies and a , ( Masterclass in tactics ) was given by Johnston............Yee Hah !...... .
